I also saw the Under Armour video and I'm not sure.....of course MC is one gorgeous dancer. But their angles and lighting emphasized her muscularity so that it looked much more, well, bulky than she normally looks. Those calf muscles looked like they could slice bread. I understand why they did...
I'm so glad to hear that emason. I know it's very OTT but there are parts and aspects to it that I really love. Some of the music I love.... I was looking at the reviews, and they were such a mixed bag. Some adored it, some made fun of it. Oh well-to each his own. So happy for you that you got...
Just saw a review on Networkdance.com of the Bolshoi's Spartacus in NYC. Bombastic and corny, yeah maybe, but I love it! Never seen it live. It got a great review which kind of surprised me, being NYC and all. The photos were amazing. Anybody see it?
I love how Lizzy looks like a real human being in this preview of DCTP. Not like a perfect pretty Lizzy we all want to be....a REAL Elizabeth. Who's had several children and runs a huge estate (or the domestic parts of it which must be exhausting...) Matthew Rhys though.....damn....he's hot...
Thanks Rob! That was lovely! I saw Irina as Nikia in "Bayadere" some years ago-Gillian Murphy was Gamzatti. (If I could be a ballerina, I'd want to be Gamzatti! Speaking of "juiciness"....that's a juicy role!) So sad to live so far from NYC and other major cities where great dance seems to...
Thanks for posting that, Rob. Norton is a lovely young man. I believe he returned home because of his mother's health. Hope all is well there now. Speaking of YAGP - my studio is hosting the master classes for the southeastern semis March 1-3 in Atlanta. Wish me luck. My little pre-pro has 10...
You must be around little boys.....bless you! I have 4 and a 2 year old grandsons. The 4 year old truly believes he is Lightning McQueen. I am totally smitten with Mater. :) Thanks for the rep. Best wishes!!!!
I presume they use the Prokoviev score for Cinderella. I LOVE Prokoviev, but for some reason I have never liked this ballet score. It has its moments, but overall, it is no Romeo and Juliet. (Personally, I love his Violin Concertos which have been used for ballet very successfully.) Cinderella's...
What a beautiful site, Marge! I scrolled all the way down-their visuals are stunning!
This isn't performance related per se, but I am very excited. My studio in Atlanta is hosting the southeastern segment of the Youth America Grand Prix this coming year. Don't know if any of you saw "First...
