You could see how everything changed immediately after the Russians were banned after the Olympics a month later at Worlds in Montpellier when Kaori, Leona and Alysa were on the women's podium after the ladies event and how they were laughing, smiling and giggling with each other and no one was...
I really hope Alysa doesn't feel like she's done everything she set out to do and retires again she's just getting started. It may seem like she's been around forever but she's had only 3 seasons as a Senior internationally.
Better yet just hang around Alysa a lot more. Maybe that i don't give a F*&k attitude will rub off on him. But i'm not sure there is anyone with that kind of mindset at least those who are championship contenders.
Nathan was nowhere the favorite that Ilia was in fact people knew if Hanyu skated to his potential that Chen would have a hard time winning. Nathan was not nearly as dominate as Ilia heading into the Olympics in 2018 he was partly the favorite because the other top men were either injured or not...
I say a two day minimum before the individual events begin. And the Men should never skate so soon after the TE since they have the most taxing programs. Why are we not going back to how it used to be Pairs first then Men, Ice Dance and finally the Ladies and no overlapping like they are doing...
What was Skate Canada thinking leaving P/P out of the FD? They may have blown any chance for a medal there. I would think P/P would want to leave Milan with some kind of medal even in the team event.
I just hope Ilia doesn't now think he needs to prove himself and go for 6 or 7 quads. He just needs to do enough to beat Sato if that is who is doing the FS though it might be Yuma again.
I'd feel better with Alysa also doing the FS you know even if she's not sharp like she wasn't in the SP she will hold it together and keep the US in 2nd place. Nothing can be done with Pairs but K/O need to beat the Canadian team to give them just a bit of a edge going into the singles competition.
I miss when Ode to Joy was always played in the opening ceremony it's epic and glorious like the a Olympic hymn should be. That would be a great replacement for the Olympic hymn. Now it's Imagine i guess though we didn't get it this time thank God.
