    Canadian figure skating

The more mileage programs have in a competitive setting, the better. I think we are quite spoiled these days in a way by the live streaming of a lot of these Challenger Series-type events. Many of the smaller fall competitions were really designed so that skaters could test out new programs in...

1964 Olympic figure skating gold medalist Sjoukje Dijkstra (NED) dies at 82

An absolute legend in the sport. :( If you haven't listened, Allison Manley's interview with Sjoukje on The Manleywoman Skatecast was amazing: https://manleywoman.com/episode-75-sjoukje-dijkstra/

    2024 ISU Congress Agenda

If it were up to me, I'd want them wrapped up by 8. As Jamie Lee Curtis once said, "Mommy goes to bed early... There's nothing good happening with me after 9 o'clock. Nothing. Zero!"

Loena skated very well! Her first number was very poppy - "One Kiss" by Amber Leigh Irish & Calvin Harris/Dua Lipa and her second number was a slower piece a version of Remo Forrer's song "Heaven or Hell". The lyrics to her second program ("like fire and ice") seemed to go over well with the crowd.

Please consider signing this petition to help Deanna Stellato-Dudek obtain Canadian citizenship sooner rather than later

The petition has now reached over 7000 signatures and those who signed are being encouraged to write a letter to their Member of Parliament. The petition provides some wonderful resources on best practices for crafting letters to MP's. I wrote my letter to Andy Fillmore this morning! :) If...

Please consider signing this petition to help Deanna Stellato-Dudek obtain Canadian citizenship sooner rather than later

Signed! I don't think it could hurt for the petition organizers to send along a copy to whoever Deanna's MP is. Petitions don't always spark change put they do spark awareness. I really hope that Deanna gets her citizenship. She's a wonderful Ambassador for Canadian figure skating and deserves...
