Nice... they're finally coming back to St. Paul and finally added Jason Brown to the tour.

Jason also did a large number of the post-2014 SOI shows. The ones he didn't do - I think there were seven or eight - he was replaced with Max.

I presume the cast listed above is simply a preliminary cast that will be expanded once the teams are known.

Dare I hope, that perhaps, if he is seeking to lead back into his comeback...? It was 2014 SOI that helped so enormously with Joshua's evolution once; I'll nurse that hope that it might do so again.

It never even comes near me anymore. (I always get the e-mails saying it's coming to Hershey, which is more than two hours away.) Too bad; that's a good cast.

No Missouri stop again. So I told my husband to plan on Milwaukee. I really want to see Charlie and Meryl one more time

I feel you. Hershey is about an hour and a half from me, so I go, but I wish SOI had added DC in the Oly year. (Or Baltimore, which would be even better for me - I know our arena is old and grimy but it's only 1 night, and they don't need a full-size ice sheet for SOI anyway, and I'm sure they could sell just as many tix as they would in Allentown, PA.)

The PPL Center in Allentown? Four miles from my house?:biggrinbo And Jason is a permanent cast member?:biggrinbo
Life is good!

If any of you ever do feel like traveling, the PPL Center is pretty new (I think three years old?) and we have a minor league hockey team so they are good (I assume) at installing ice.

And there is a great little Ethiopian restaurant a half mile from the arena. I'll meet you there before the show:summer:

We pre-ordered tickets for Hershey, so that will be our show. Allentown, PA is closer (just an hour away vs. 2 hours to Hershey). Glad to see that more shows were added for this year (due to the Olympics, I guess).

Sigh...even in the Olympic year, nothing close by.

Both PA shows are too far out of the way...logistically, the Long Island show is the "best of the worst" but not doable in a day trip + regional hotels are expensive. Can't say I'm exactly inspired to make that trip, particularly with the current cast. :(

The D.C. show always had a decent crowd, not sure why they no longer do that stop.

I don't get that either. Though it's halfway across the country, I have family there and could have arranged to be there more easily than any other location. Boo.

The pre-sale was supposed to start today with "ASHLEY" but I'm just getting a note that they'll let me know when general tickets become available. Am I just trying too early? Thanks :)

I just got an email about the presale for St.Paul. The code is NATHAN. Are tickets cheaper with the presale? I find it hard to plan so far in advance!

Very expensive to rent the Arena in downtown DC and make a profit.

I'm sorry that recent editions of SOI tours in the USA include only US skaters. Other than Nathan and maybe the Shibs, Team USA skaters have very little chance of medaling at the Olympics. Even Nathan is not a lock, if all men skate to their capabilities. (Sorry, I don't count the so-called Team Event, which is a cheesy sham...even more so if Team Russia is banned.)

The code ASHLEY worked for me with Hershey. Tix don't go on sale until 10 am local time (local meaning arena location). I got 7th row, 1 row lower in same section where I was last year....a good distance to see skaters up close but also get the full perspective of the group numbers, IMO.

Judging by the number of available seats, I don't think anyone will have a problem getting good seats.

Received the newsletter from SOI today. I believe it was around 2005 or 2007 when the tour actually came to Shreveport/Bossier at the CenturyLink theatre. I had tickets but didn't get to go because of illness. I highly doubt that SOI will ever be back close to my area again.

Can't wait to read reviews in the future from everyone that has the opportunity to go. :)

Ok, I can understand that. Unfortunate that skating is nowhere close to what it used to be in its US heyday.

I’ve suspected something like that being the reason they now seem to stay away from most big cities and go for medium-size towns instead. The other thing is that when they DID host shows in places like Philly, or Newark, attendance was so dismal (like, not even half the lower bowl full) that I fully understand them not going back to those locations.

Presale tickets are the same price. Also, they don't release all the tickets right away. In the past I've gotten better seats by waiting and checking in every now and then to see what has opened up. Might be risky in an Olympic year though, especially if they decide to actually advertise the tour.

For the Hershey show, all seats (except those already sold via advance order, which looked to be very few) were available to be chosen on the map. Initially, at 10 am, the only option was "find a seat for me" but after about a half hour, the map/self-choice option went live.

Ticketmaster just emailed me (presale code word CHAMPIONS) but didn't include the Allentown date.

I'll keep an eye out for it. I admit disappointment the code word wasn't JASON.

Hope they're being smart and picking price points and creating options for e.g., learn to skate club member kids to attend without breaking the bank. This is really the one post-Olympic/once every 4 years "dog and pony" show to rally interest for the sport. And while obviously theoretically a profit seeking venture, it is a virtuous or vicious cycle with trade-offs. If the sport can't capitalize on the opportunity to parade Olympians, by making it affordable to attend, then will be a missed opportunity for the sport and the sponsors.

So, should I really be breaking the internet looking for a presale for Allentown? I can’t imagine even good seats will sell out soon.

And looking at the order of the shows, I do feel sorry for the skaters. Allentown to Hershey, and then back to Long Island? That’s adding an unnecessary four hours trucking to Hershey and back again. Ah well, I-78 will be their friend:D
