Technically it was an excellent performance, but i was missing a lot of the transitions & choreo until the last minute... maybe when i watch it again i'll pick up some more, but i suspect doing coaching & choreo over zoom has caused some challenges with those...

I think this music fits Yuzuru nicely and I like this program better than his lyrical and 'trying to be sexy' programs. That said, I also agree with the lack of choreography - feels like he was just moving from one pose to another.

Sublimity from Hanyu.

I'm feeling a calmness to his performances at this Nationals that's been missing the last year or so. He seems content and happy with what he's doing. I really like both the new programs, the SP has a bit of an edge for me just in terms of fun factor, plus "rock star" Yuzuru is one of my favorite of his artistic incarnations, if you will, but I like this long program a lot too.

There has been so much technical ambition and quest for perfection in his skating the last couple years, which as a viewer was exciting, but also tense and nerve-wracking, to watch. And I'm sure it must have felt much the same for him. So this is a nice break from that. Feels like he found his zen, for the moment anyway.

Really enjoyed Yuzu, Shoma, and Yuma in their own ways. All just of tremendous quality.

I prefer Yuzu’s short to his long though. He just needs to commit more to the “shake your ass” part.
