There is clear distinction in PCS between Juniors and Seniors, rightly or wrongly. There is even bigger distinction between title holding seniors and everybody else. This shows that my guess that 12-15 point PCS advantage will be granted to Kaori and Mai may have been spot on.
IMHO, top five skated wonderfully, each emphasising different strengths, and all five garnering well earned standing ovations. While I tend to agree that Kaori has clear advantage in SK, IMHO, the best performance this evening was by Mone or Mai.
I remember with bitterness the travesty of judging when Midori Ito was not allowed to win because of unfairly low "Artistic" marks. IMHO, PCS should not be used as a tool for reputation judging.

I just watched this and the other top programs. This seemed like a stronger SP than Chiba’s - elements and composition…music to the strong beat. Stronger and with instant standing O. I would’ve had Shimada as clear 3rd, close to 2nd. Oh well, they’re still close…except for Sakamoto as 100% absolute leader today. Superb!

I like Yoshida too but…I think that she’s growing quickly? Like super-duper quickly? She seemed to be smaller/shorter at this season’s first JGP event, 3.5 months ago. I noticed at the JGP Final. Trying to work through the normal changes.

Judges were just introduced for the FD and the first group is on the ice. How exciting is that to say about Japanese Nationals? I have low expectations for this first group based on the scores from the RD, but you have to start building up from somewhere.
