No. As has been covered in this thread already - each SP group is determined by WS but they still have a draw within each SP group for their starting order.

Whatever grump. For the last three months you’ve been telling me as far as like to say the start order for Amber … she’s gonna be 13th depending on Petrokina and then a few weeks later saying she’ll be 14th she’s going to be behind young you. Now all of a sudden that’s not the case so why bother keeping up in the thread. Multiple answers, depending on what day of the week it is.

Don’t bother responding with your predictable Snark and grumpitude. Not needed today toots.

Nope - all I've been saying is that she won't be in the penultimate group - and she's not (she's in the 3rd to last group).

I've got a slight headache and am dealing with annoying customers so you might have to suffer some snark and grumpiness from me until this evening when I'm free of the madness and get to focus solely on skating for the rest of the week, lol.

Since the start orders are based on world ranking points, her possible start order for Worlds could change during the season, either because she get new ranking points and goes higher on the list or other skaters get ranking points and goes ahead of Amber on the list. So everything she said could be true at the point she wrote it. For example Petrokina got around 182 points after Tallinn Hotel Cup in February, and Glenn hasn´t competed internationally and gotten any ranking points after Christmas. She could easily have gotten ranking points at 4CC, but she WD. So of course other skaters would have passed her on the list.

What makes everything more confusing, is that from my understanding they have changed how they draw within the groups. Earlier they would draw between start nr. 1-3 and 3-6 in the group based on how they were ranked. Start nr. 3-6 in a group, would be the highest ranked skaters of the group, and nr. 1-3, the lowest ranked.

This way to draw within the groups was done at Euros, I think also 4CC and Junior Worlds. I assumed it would be done this way at Worlds too. So this will also impact the start order.

Apparently now for Worlds, the ranking within the group doesn´t have anything to say, so a skater who earlier should have skated somewhere between 3-6 in the respective group, could now get start nr. 1 in the group, depending on the draw.

I do not see anything grumpy about the assumption given at the time that was based on facts.

Yes, this is how it is done at Worlds too, I just don't bother worrying about that so much as the groupings.

Ok, thanks for clarifying, then it was just a misunderstanding from my side. I could not find any information about that anywhere else, so I was a little surprised. Given how confusing the whole seeded groups is for some people I understand not bother to mention it ;)

ISU Rule No. 520 Draws for Competitors

1. Applicable for all ISU Championships as from the 2022/23 season, the
draw for the Short Program/Rhythm Dance and if applicable, for the

World Standings as follows, whereby World Standings will be
established as per the procedure published in an ISU Communication:
a) For the purpose of the draw, the Competitors are listed in
accordance with the latest ISU World Standings at the time of the
Team Leaders Meeting at the respective competition.
b) The Competitors will be divided into starting order groups in
accordance to Table I of the Technical Rules using the total
number of Competitors entered.
c) Within the starting order groups, the Competitors will be divided
into two equal subgroups, in case of an odd number of
Competitors the subgroups with the Competitors drawing for the
higher starting numbers will include one more Skater/Pair/Couple.
d) There will be a free draw among all Competitors of each such
subgroup with the highest ranked Skater/Pair/Couple of the World
Standings drawing first and so on.

e) In case of ties in the World Standings there will be a separate draw
between the tied Competitors to decide the order of the draw. In
case of ties in the World Standings on the border of starting order
groups or the subgroups, all those tied Competitors will be
included in the later group or subgroup and the earlier competing
group or subgroup will be smaller by the number of Competitors
so added to a later group. However, this procedure has no
influence on the size of the warm-up groups for the Short Program

strictly follows Table II of the Technical Rules.
f) Skaters/Pairs/Couples, who have not received any ISU World
Standing points will be listed at the bottom of the list in country

determine the starting order, following the basic principles of the
draws.
2. Based on the result of the Short Program/Rhythm Dance, the
Competitors placed 1-24 in Single Skating 1-16 in Pair Skating (1-20
in Pair Skating at World Championships) and 1-20 in Ice Dance only
shall qualify for the final Free Skating/Free Dance.
Starting with the 2024/25 season, based on the result of the Short
Program/Rhythm Dance, the Competitors placed 1-24 in Single
Skating, 1-16 in Pair Skating and 1-20 in Ice Dance only shall qualify
for the final Free Skating/Free Dance.
3. The starting order for the Free Skating/Free Dance will be according to
Rule 513, paragraph 2. f) Women & Men, 2. g) Pairs and 2. h) Ice
Dance.
4. If a tie in the Short Program/Rhythm Dance occurs for the 24th place in
Single Skating or for the 16th place in Pair Skating (for the 20th place in
Pair Skating at World Championships) or for the 20th place in Ice
Dance, all the tied Competitors will qualify for the Free Skating/Free
Dance for which they will be drawn in the same (first) group. If
necessary, Rule 514, paragraph 3 shall apply.
Starting with the 2024/25 season, if a tie in the Short Program/Rhythm
Dance occurs for the 24th place in Single Skating or for the 16th place
in Pair Skating or for the 20th place in Ice Dance, all the tied
Competitors will qualify for the Free Skating/Free Dance for which they
will be drawn in the same (first) group. If necessary, Rule 514,

Because my computer gets fussy about too many flag graphics, I'll have to leave it to one of you to do the copy-paste.

Lolll. Same for me, I think my computer only allows like 18 images or flags, so I always have to go and delete some of them lol.
