...for becoming the first couple to win TWO Olympic Gold Medals in ice dancing on February 16, 1998! Time flies!

Oksana & Evgeny remain the only couple to win two CONSECUTIVE ice dancing gold medals at the Olympics. In all, they won a world record 22 consecutive competitions beginning with the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics and ending with the 1998 Nagano Olympics. For those who have been following me since the FSW and early FSU days, while I don't normally talk out of school about my very close friends, I think it's OK to post they both have told me they are great fans of the only other couple to win two Olympic ice dancing gold medals, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir!
For those who missed it, Oksana & Evgeny did reunite briefly for the 10 year anniversary of their 2nd gold medal to perform in Moscow and Nagano.
