Finally, US International and Autumn Classic are not next to each other. Given the few competitions in Northern America, putting them on two different months makes sense for all mid-tier skaters based in USA and Canada who wouldn't need to travel to Europe to attend a competition in October.
Mexico Cup may also attract more international (USA, Canada and those training there) skaters if held in October-November or January-February instead of May.

I think Mexico Cup would have a deeper field if held in mid-December - after the US finishes Sectionals and Canada holds their Challenge, but a good 3-5 weeks ahead of their respective National Championships. Plus it would be good to have a NA-based competition in December for any skaters looking for 4CCs mins.

Really excited to see that Norway will host an international event called Sonja Henie Trophy in March!! Since it will be in Oslo, my guess is that it will be in the new Sonja Henie ice hall.

Except Nordics once in a while, there hasn´t been many international skating events in Norway. Youth Olympic comes to mind as the last big event, and there was JGP events a lot of years ago, and off course OG in 94.

Given the name, I hope this turns out to be a yearly event.

Well, that's better than US Autumn Classic International, which was wholly confusing with the long-running Autumn Classic Int'l held in Canada every September, but I liked the suggestion in the Challenger thread of re-naming it in honor of Mabel Fairbanks better.

This has been renamed into Kings Cup International ...

Hmmm ... the name change makes me wonder whether the competition first known as U.S. International Figure Skating Classic now is destined to have a fixed location for multiple years? (Similar to its long run in Salt Lake City from 2012-2019.)

This season's interim name of "U.S. Autumn Classic" seemingly was intended to signal that it is an international companion event to the new domestic event "LA Autumn Classic" at Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo. (LA Autumn Classic is part of National Qualifying Series for 2023-24, but not 2024-25).
(I get that in terms of internationals, "Autumn Classic" first would bring to mind Skate Canada's Autumn Classic for many.)

Toyota Center is an official training site for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League. (As a non-fan of hockey, I'm not sure what would or would not be common knowledge beyond North America.)
If(?) "Kings Cups International" is a reflection of sponsorship for the renamed (ETA: and sort of expanded*) U.S. Classic, I would take that as good news. USFS always can use more sponsorships.

Expanded in the sense of international competition not only for Senior, but also for Junior and Novice.
But reduced in the sense of disciplines. KCI is only for singles, whereas U.S. Classic also had dance -- and in some years, pairs too.

Such a shame. I always enjoyed watching the livestream.

That being said, it will be very exciting to see Oceana International live in Melbourne. Some great skaters provisionally entered already.
