YouTube has several TV movies about true crime cases. I'll omit giving a direct link to them here because of some FSUers getting upset by the gory details. And I'll skip the out-and-out gory cases, and just mention the ones that stand out for various reasons of jurisprudence and justice.
The Hunt For The Unicorn Killer : Ira Einhorn's murder of his ex-girlfriend Holly Maddox should have been an open-and-shut case, but his 'celebrity' status had numerous influential people (including socialite Barbara Bronfman) standing behind him until his skipping bail, and international extradition procedures resulted in him being on the lamb for over 20 years before finally being brought to trial.
The Siege At Ruby Ridge : Randy Weaver was a white-separatist involved in an 11 day standoff with the FBI. The Feds clearly violated Rules Of Engagement, resulting in the deaths of Weaver's wife and son, before mediator Bo Gritz got Weaver to surrender.
