(I wrote his given name as Zhi'ao with an apostrophe before)
Huh must have seen his face before somewhere since I recognize him, but don't think I watched him skate? Needs work, but that's what the JGP is for, to gain experience.

There are several chinese skating accounts that seem to have popped up on Youtube by the way (or at least accounts that are/were uploading the club league). Gris' translation of the names should enable you guys to search for them, like so:

Need this boy to come to the circuit (whichever division, don't even know) btw lol:

There are rumors saying that JIN Yang wants to pair up with SUI.
Honestly, I can't stand it. This jerk should retire immediately and I don't want Sui to become a Savchenko type of person who is only eyeing skating without having other lives and goals.

Actually it became obvious after all the work Wenjing took on this season that it was not on the charts anymore.

Hope they enjoy retirement.

He retired. There's a strong indication that she wants to continue, actually, so don't be surprised when she shows up with another partner.

ETA: Oh raruki spilled the tea before I go there...

They are everywhere TBH, and even a bunch of paid posters hired by some agencies, just exactly the ones who kept bashing Sui during the After-Olympic drama, keep spreading these rumors on every Chinese social media platform.

A recent (a few days ago) interview of Wenjing, for context:

Around 2:05: "Wenjing Sui thinks there's a 95% chance that she will skate at the 2026 Olympics, the rest 5% depends on her health."

I don't mind her coming back with Yang. If she wants to continue, then she should.

I agree.

And I think some need to realize that Yang might or might not have said whatever to Xiaoyu based off "insider sources", but simple fact is, if they had continued and it really wasn't a good physical fit, they might have ended up with permanent injury and early retirement, or maybe Yu would have starved herself, which I'm guessing is a not-so-feminist thing in comparison. Just my opinion.

And it's always funny that there's an apparent Greek chorus in the CFSA, that is fully willing to leak everything from facial expressions to the budget of a communist dictatorship. But maybe that's my own sense of humour at play.

But again, let's wait. The rumour mill with Jin Yang specifically these past two years has been:
1. Evil Shen and Zhao "forgot" to register him and Peng Cheng at 2022 worlds! Disgusting!
2. Evil CFSA didn't give them the funds to train at the same location! Disgusting!
3. Jin Yang wants to retire and be with his girlfriend! Disgusting/cute (depends on the person saying it)!
4. Oh look! Peng and Jin are no longer a pair! We always knew they hated each other and therefore they didn't go to worlds 2022, and this is also why they weren't training together!
5. Jin Yang hasn't retired! Disgusting/cute (depends)/hot(me)! (also not a rumour but fact, just need it to complete this particular smorgasbord)

I hope I've emphasised that at least some of us should chill just a tad, even if not all.

Whole post

I... don't think I've ever posted anything judging Yang Jin's character on this board?

Frustrated hardcore S/H stans (or shippers) will probably see any single potential partner of Wenjing as an evil "homewrecker" so the reaction won't be pretty.

No you didn't. It's my observation of the stuff I see from some cfans.

They're not really shipped anymore, but oh well.

Always found that ship strange.

Grids are updated with Cup of China and Grand Prix Espoo TBD host spots being filled.

Cup of China: Daiwei Dai, Boyang Jin, He Zhang; Xiangyi An, Hongyi Chen, Yi Zhu; Cheng Peng / Lei Wang, Yuchen Wang / Lei Zhu; Siyang Zhang / Yongchao Yang; Xizi Chen / Jianing Xing, Shiyue Wang / Xinyu Liu

CoC TBD host spots are now officially going to these skaters. Guess "Daiwei" is truly how Dai's given name is pronounced? (And I'd been saying it wrong before...)

Colour me 0% shocked that they decided to send nobody to CS events to test preparedness. And 100% shocked they didn't drop spots.

CoC host spots:

Men: Jin, Dai, Zhang
Women: An, Chen, Zhu
Pairs: Peng/Wang, Wang/Zhu, Zhang/Yang
ID: Wang/Liu, Chen/Xing
Guess "Daiwei" is truly how Dai's given name is pronounced?

Totally going to call him David Day, though. This "Dai Dawei" and "Zhu Yi" stuff is eh to me.

Can someone tell me what the story behind David's 戴妃 or 戴贵妃 nickname is

And yeah the announcer on Asian Open is saying "Daiwei Dai" as well :rofl::rofl:

ETA: Barely missed the MTS for 4CC, going by the live chat.

Can anyone tell me did Daiwei get the scores wrong? How on earth he only got 27 tes while cleanly landing a 3A, 3T+3T, and 3Lo? Although he might get some elements invalid, the TES can't be that low? If he only got 27 TES while cleanly landing all of the jumps, it meant that most of his non-jumping elements getting invalid. That couldn't be possible?

^You don't know if any of the jumps were clean. I won't be shocked if the 3A was called 'q' or worse, as the calls go at low level events. And the camel change foot camel spin might have been knocked down levels with -GOE/been invalidated altogether. Step sequence levels matter too, although he deserves high GOE for that as well as the 3Lo.

The jumps look clean to me though, and yes the spins today were pretty questionable.
Let us wait for the protocol.

That is very strange. It wouldn’t surprise me if the scores are revised before the SP. That sounds like a clear screw up by the data entry operators.
They can appeal it, but it's CFed

ETA: At least he'll have MTS, no matter what it's called as.

Judges normally will have a reviewing meeting after competitions, so this flaw should be fixed.
