The Boulogne ice rink is in danger: the City Hall wants to close it permanently (too expensive, etc.)
This rink was the training place of most of french World Champions : Alain Calmat, Alain Giletti, Jacqueline du Bief... and Patrick Pera, Christiane and Jean Guhel...
It has been renovated in 2004 !
Please, if you could sign the petition :

ETA (re-posting here from the Pairs general discussion thread):
France's Clelia Liget-Latus, 13 (born August 10, 2010 according to her ISU bio http://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00115050.htm; previously competed in France domestically with Spain's Noah Quesada in Adv. Novice Pairs in 2022-23 (ETA - before his current partnership with Claudia Sinclair SCOTTI this past season for Spain) and she competed in Adv. Novice singles at 2022 NRW Trophy, according to SkatingScores.com) has paired with USA's Allan Fisher, 17 (born 7/20/06 and competed in Junior Men at 2023 U.S. Nationals; previously won the 2020 U.S. Pairs Final at the Juvenile level with Ellie Korytek in Nov. 2019) - her post last week shows her and Fisher with John Zimmerman and Silvia Fontana in Florida:

Camille and Pavel Kovalev are leaving Courbevoie to train in Angers.
So Laurent Depouilly is moving to Angers.
A more stable situation, rink-wise.
I hope Elian Thomann is following him.
Elian would also have to move his musical and swimming training from Asnières/Ile de France to Angers.
Quite the move. Or the moment to make choices ?
He'll be eligible for JGP next season but the FFSG may think he's too young and does not have the jumps yet.

I've seen in an article that there is a construction project on the block of the Courbevoie rink.
And Asnière's rink which is going to be destroyed and rebuilt. And Boulogne which is sourrouded with doubts.
In Paris' area, the situation is gonna be dire in the coming years.
I'm not surprised to see coaches moving away to more recently built rinks.

OTOH, it's nice to see the decentralization in ice dance.
I've read Fabian Bourzat is moving to Brest (Charlène Guignard's ex club).
We already knew that Roxanne Petetin was moving to Bordeaux.
The west coast is attracting coaches.
Happy to see the undoing of the "everyone must go to same center" policy.

Lopareva/Brissaud's FD is impressive
Dupayage/ Nabais' is absolutly lovely
But Demougeot/Le Mercier's holds a special place in my heart as a landmark in their evolution.
Like their 2022-2023 FD, it surprises me. I didn't know they could do that.
I'm glad that I gonna watch L/B‘s program at Shanghai Trophy.
D/N’s FD is so VDL,absolutely love it!
Every team has their own paces,it's certainly early stage of D/LM‘s new FD. Hope to see it evolve during the season.

I probably have missed it: where is Aymoz trianing now? And who is Bonnard - his coach? Has he left Zimmerman/Fontana?

Françoise Bonnard is his long time coach in Grenoble, she's been his coach since he is really young, and is still when he is in France. I don't know about his actual training between Grenoble and the US.

Kevin seems like he's in desperate need of help and intervention, and I hope he's made to stop competing. That's all I want to say, as a fan.

Short of imprisoning him - and he's done nothing to warrant that - it's rather impossible to MAKE any grown adult do anything if they're determined to do it.

You can make someone retire.

You can defund him and say it's based on his results, which would be the easiest way here.

If he's paying his own way, then his fed can talk to his coaches and end their relationship.

Those ways come to my mind right now.

You could. That would also be, in all likelihood since this is France we are talking about, subject to litigation in the ECHR - the FFSG cannot take away funding that Kevin is entitled to based upon his standing on the National Team which is likely determined by previous season results and/or world standing.

And if you really believe that there wouldn't be other coaches (especially ones who are not based in France and whose incomes are not tied to FFSG funding) willing to step in should the fed put enough pressure on his current coaches to drop him, then I've got some lovely oceanfront property in Arizona I'd like to sell you.

What you are suggesting is exerting a level of control that does not happen in civilized western societies.

Kevin has been working as a choreographer over the summer for skaters at his Grenoble rink and Davide Lewton Brain. He is starting his transition. He has Skate America and Finland for GP's. Lets see how everything goes. He is an emotional skater , but I think he will do what's best for him.
I am just hopeful for Skate America. Positive thoughts. 🙏

Do you guys think Kevin's heart is still into competitive skating? Genuine question, he just doesn't look as into his performances like he used to be.
