75.58, TES panel must have hit her hard.
ETA: TES down by 2, but it was low PCS which determined the scores. 7.79 across the board, my foot! "Defying Gravity" with clean 3A (even with Gestapo q), joyously performed by Mao, is the best SP in both Senior and Junior!
It enrages me since this is exactly what the judges did to Midori Ito in late 80s.

The 3A did look q, but honestly, I'd still give it her over Kaori. K's programme doesn't suit her, she's not nearly sharp enough.

ETA - I noticed that many of the English spellings of the names of skaters in the table below are incorrect - who is Higuchi Shinba???
Should I have used the table in Japanese?
ETA2 - this is NOT official JSF's website but someone put their Japanese page into a translation program. I do not have time to correct all the misspellings, but you can guess their correct names since most of the misspellings are partially correct (either the last name or the first name).

The pool of talent in Japan is insane. Will the 18th place skater at Euros, Wolds or Oly score 59.00?

It looks like Kaori and Mone are shoe-ins for Worlds. Third spot to Rino or Wakaba, doesnāt look like Rinka or Hana got any favors from judges. Although if Hana or Rion hit their 3As perfectly in the FS they have a chance.
Much as I love Aoki, her TES in the FS isnāt strong enough to beat the others and she didnāt make the GPF.

Japanese ladies need to find a long-lost mysterious foreign grandfather or something, the depth of talent is incredible and is so sad that only 3 can go to worlds
The amazing aspect of Japanese Women skaters is that this excellent standard is maintained through Juniors and Novices. It is noted that 9th and 10th at Junior Nationals (just behind Mei Okada) were Novices. Sumika Kanazawa is expected to compete in JGPS next season, and Karin Miyazaki, two seasons from now. Karin is an amazing firecracker of a skater with excellent presentation, jumps and speed, reminded me of 12 year old Midori and Wakaba.
Sheās eligible the season after the Olympics so wouldnāt that be 26-27?

Just watched the programs linked above and wow what fantastic skating by the women. Kaori's lutz even looked like a true outside edge on take-off. Mao Shimada was great, but she didn't seem to really embody the choreography, there was a lot of thinking through her positions, especially her arms. Kaori's program doesn't seem like a natural fit for her either but she commits to all her positions and she has flow moving between them. Yuna Aoki though, she's got star power. There's something so compelling about how she moves on the ice.
