I watched Good Sam and thought it was a little too formulaic and I didn't really like any of the characters, but I may give it another shot. But I don't think I'll keep up with that one.
I felt the same as you, but I did like most of the characters (for the most part). It's a well-made hospital drama and the cast is very talented cast. But the script ran hot and cold for me. On the plus side, the final line of the episode, “That’ll be all, doctor” was CLASSIC. On the negative side, when Sam says to her friend Lex, “I thought my best friend would have my back”, I couldn’t help but think of snotty high school girls talking to one another like this. Plus I didn’t understand how Sam and her Mom Vivian could put up with so much disrespectful treatment from their father/ex-husband. The line where Griff suggests to his ex-wife (and the hospital’s Chief Executive Officer) to feel how firm his behind is…come on people, it’s 2022 for crap’s sake. Sophia Bush was great as the lead character. Just the right mixture of sweetness and toughness. Glad she’s no longer part of the toxic Chicago P.D. work environment. Overall, I am taking a pass on Good Sam. If there was less competition from so many other good shows on TV, I might give this one a chance over a few more episodes. But there’s too many other quality shows to pick from at this time.
