Sorry! I swear I searched prior to posting, but I entered Stars on Ice instead of SOI. :)
No problem since this IS the 2022 U.S. SOI tour :) (would you like to add "U.S." to your thread title?) - eta: oh, you just did - thank you!

Yes ... very pleased that there is going to be a full U.S. tour this spring. BUT I sure would like to see Knierim/Frazier on it, and/or some of our other pairs teams. And some international skaters.

Still though, this is excellent news. This will be the first time SOI has come to Boston in probably 10 years!

Has anyone ever figured out what SOI has against pairs?

SOI usually have 3 couples. Priority goes to the teams who have won individual world or olympic medals.

For US, it meant 3 ice dance teams for last several years. For Canada, the situation is now interesting. What will happen to Duhamel and Radford with their respective partners?

Has anyone else gone out on Ticketmaster to check out prices? I am seeing the cheapest tickets in Hartford for over $300 and the best going for the mid-$800 range. That can't possibly be....
And the April 23rd date just disappeared!?

Why Americans ignore Ashley Wagner?? If I am not mistaken, she is the only US skater who got World medal, being second. I assumed she will be invited on the Stars on Ice.
@karmena Ashley will perform in the 5 winter holiday shows of Stars on Ice between December 12-19, 2021 (I recall her sharing in her Instagram stories how tough it was getting back into shape to perform in public).

For those interested, I've just posted an update with article links in Ashley's fan thread: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...-tonights-lecture.101175/page-26#post-6127036

ETA that the Olympic year SOI tours tend to focus on the prospective and/or most recent Olympians (Nagasu is the only 'retired' Olympian from 2018 initially invited to perform in the 2022 tour).

Where are you seeing the prices? I just looked at the Fort Myers/Estero date and I don’t see any info except the date and location.

They just disappeared, like the Hartford date. I must have hit a snag/bug in the code; maybe a placeholder for the real prices. It was out on the Ticketmaster website.

Yes, hopefully a placeholder for the real prices which we’ll see on Tuesday. I’m looking forward to this show. It would be great if they could add some international skaters but I’ll be happy just to have an event to look forward to in 2022.

I’d love to go…April 22, Newark, NJ…easy trip on Amtrak! However, I’ll wait a while until it appears that the big events after US Nationals will proceed.

The world isn’t quite the same as pre-*****. For ex, I lost $$$ on ballet tix when my flights to a mid-western city were cancelled at last minute when the airline crew didn’t show up. (Not the Chicago trip - that miraculously happened!) In Europe, some major theatres are back in lockdown…so other plans delayed, eg, a big premiere at the Mariinsky (mid Dec) in StP cancelled & tentatively rescheduled for May (guy at box office told me but not yet announced, awaiting progress on ****). Luckily, no hotel needed - stay w/ family - but I lost a half day dealing with Aeroflot for refund.

I don’t yet trust that things will go on (the events AND airline staffing). Still, would love to eventually see SOI in Newark.

After getting excited yesterday, I‘ve also decided to wait on SOI tickets. For me here in Florida, where it is against the law to require vaccination to attend events, I want to wait to see where we are at with everything next April. I will be checking ticket prices, however.

No, but there was a show there in 2018 (post-Olympics SOI tours usually have many more cities than the other years due to more public interest & awareness created by the Olympics).

ETA: Just checked the 2018 U.S. SOI thread and the tour visited 22 cities; Hartford, CT show was on Apr. 22, 2018.

I really enjoyed the show that year! :)
