The Junior Men's SP just started. The stream seems to work well but I think the competition is running really behind schedule.

Miclette is WD on the live results link https://lamp.skatecanada.ca/alex/cs...933fcfe&hideLogo=false&hideVideo=true&lang=fr

Kim Deguise-Léveillé is still listed to fingers crossed we'll see her. Rose Théroux is also still on the list but I wonder if we'll see her so closely after her JGP assignment. Of course I'm looking forward to seeing Audreanne Foster.

The second of two senior ice dance teams just took the ice so they are about a half hour behind schedule.

This senior women's competition is slow....
Pomerleau opened with a huge triple toe triple toe but then only did a double salchow. She's leading after the first group.

Kim got a nice reaction to her program. The music was "This" by Megan McKenna, very poignant lyrics. Based on what she had posted on instagram this is about what I expected jump wise. She did a single axel, double salchow and double flip. She expressed nicely. She seems determined to come back so we'll see what the future holds for the former Canadian junior champion.

Foster with a triple flip to open after popping it a few times this year. Then a triple toe triple toe. I won't get too excited yet as she gets lots of under rotation calls LOL. Double axel. Okay all the jumps looked good to me even on replay but I have no confidence in calling that with her.

ETA: 60.13! Second triple toe called Q but all positive GOE. I hope this is a breakthrough for her and also that the powers that be at Skate Canada are paying attention LOL

I didn't watch the last group of women live but Lussier also broke 60 points.
I think they are about 45 minutes behind as the novice pairs warmup is on just now and was supposed to start at 4:00.

Side note, I was able to find birthdates for 2 of the junior teams - Noemie Rolland is 15 (will turn 16 in November), Étienne Lacasse is 18, Beau Callahan is 13 (just turned in June), and Christophe Roch is 18.

The schedule didn't have an ice make before senior pairs but I guess there is one?

How long do we have to wait for GP assignments?

Beau looked to be no older than 13 out there on the ice, so this makes sense.

All in all, rather underwhelming from all three teams, though Quattrochi/Desmarais seem the most mature/ready for international competition of the trio.

Or not. Looks like there are only 3 teams on the ice.

ETA - I think Thibodeau-Mailhot/Villeneuve are the WD.

Nope - it was Izzo/Ferland who WD... :(

Thibodeau-Mailhot/Villeneuve - 2tw to open... Okay then. Really nice throw 3s though! And he goes down on the SBS 2a. And a lift fail. This team seems to have regressed since last season, which is hard to believe given how mediocre they were a year ago. "A little unsteady" indeed...

He really hit the boards on that fall, it's no wonder the lift failed right after. Unfortunate music choice for that moment.

Ehhhhhh... I dunno. The lift went up fine, and then his arms just buckled. Seems like he needs to work on his upper body strength.

I mean, he did kind of smack the boards with his hand to stop himself from totally slamming into it. It could have really been stinging during that lift.

This isn't the worst Beatles cover (Bombardier/Farand) but skating maybe needs to take a break from Postmodern Jukebox.

Bombardier/Farand - very crashy & forward landing on the 3tw, nice SBS 3s! Okay lift for the amt of time she's been doing pairs. Down on the throw 3z. These SBS spins are out of synch, but what's new about Oakville pairs teams? There may be some potential here, but it's rather early to tell.
