Well, I'd expect them at Lake Placid; and we'll see if they can knock off some teams that are ranked above them on the SB list.Honestly, I'm a little surprised that Tkachenko/Kiliakov also got a GP assignment. I haven't heard or seen anything about whether or not they planned to go senior-only next season and sort of expected them to wait until the 2025-26 season to opt for senior-only.
They could do what GoluGM did a couple years ago and decline the GP assignment.

I think that this was a good attempt by the German federation to get 2 gp spots for Janse van Rensburg/Steffan. When Grimm/Savitskiy withdraw, it will be logical to replace them with Janse van Rensburg/SteffanI was out all afternoon and just now got to catch up. How bizarre about Grimm/Savitskiy! I wonder what they'll do?
Oooh, I love your conspiracy-theory mind!I think that this was a good attempt by the German federation to get 2 gp spots for Janse van Rensburg/Steffan. When Grimm/Savitskiy withdraw, it will be logical to replace them with Janse van Rensburg/Steffan
You also miss Hagara in the 1-10 group, so far he has only NHK and should be between Reshtenko and M.Selevko.ETA - forgot that Grassl belongs on the Alternate List in the 1-10 group.

Thanks! Edited to include him!You also miss Hagara in the 1-10 group, so far he has only NHK and should be between Reshtenko and M.Selevko.
The most important thing is that no one asked themRe German ice dancers - IMO, there’s no comparison between Grimm/Savitsky and Van Rensburg/Steffan. I’m delighted that Grimm/Savitsky are moving up to the Senior GP circuit this season. Best news I’ve read in a while.
I think you're giving the German fed far too much credit, lol. I mean, this is the federation that is so broke Katarina Witt had to buy their team jackets a couple seasons ago.I think that this was a good attempt by the German federation to get 2 gp spots for Janse van Rensburg/Steffan. ETA - forgot to include Bombardier/Mimar on the Alternates List based on his score with McIntosh from last season - also, it was mentioned on the AnythingGOE YT live review of the GP assignments yesterday that Ariano Kent/Laliberte Laurent and Desrochers/Thrasher may be remaining junior internationally next season.
From Virginia would be even easier for themIt's also VERY possible that Tkachenko/Kiliakov will get a 2nd assignment - much cheaper to fly a team in from New Jersey than from Germany.
Oh, yeah, they are in Virginia not New Jersey, lol. Either way, it's a much quicker/easier trip from the US Northeast to Halifax than from anywhere in Europe. From Virginia would be even easier for them
Grimm's X post ("you‘re confused? I‘m fckng confused bro") was hilarious to see yesterday. The most important thing is that no one asked them
she already used that in the 22/23 season, i think a skater can only use 1 WC finish once a career.I see no Rika Kihira. Did she retire, or not recover enough yet? I would have thought she'd qualify as a returning skater.
They put them on there when they initially posted it and then removed them, which seems like an almost confirmation that they’re being withdrawn. The German Fed's post about their GP assignments seems to indicate that they do not expect Grimm/Savitskiy to accept the SCI assignment -

Williams/Lewer are Junior World medalists and it's pretty clear that JWC and JGPF medalists who are moving up to seniors get some degree of informal priority on the initial selection list for 1 GP assignment even if they're lower on the SB list than someone else from their own country - Neset/Markelov are a bit lower than Flores/Desyatov, IIRC.I’m glad Finland picked Williams and Lewer who I love but tell me again they can pick whomever they want even if their way down the list and bypass other Americans who are higher up and other teams from other countries that are higher up correct?
Why did the German Fed even submit them for selection in that case, if they were already decided about staying junior? They put them on there when they initially posted it and then removed them, which seems like an almost confirmation that they’re being withdrawn.
That was my assumption going into this season, since they both have junior eligibility left, and probably makes the most sense at this point.Okay, going through the Pairs assignments - lots of thoughts here...

Correct, once all the guaranteed places have been assigned.I’m glad Finland picked Williams and Lewer who I love but tell me again they can pick whomever they want even if their way down the list and bypass other Americans who are higher up and other teams from other countries that are higher up correct?
I imagine someone at the fed wasn’t very communicative and just approved all the eligible teams without asking the athletes or their coaches. Unlike the French fed who likely made it clear that Fradji/Fourneaux were not to be added to the selection pool as they were aware they are staying junior. Why did the German Fed even submit them for selection in that case, if they were already decided about staying junior?
