Say, this question came to me the other day...But I was wondering...do Skaters get dizzy while performing Spins? Or how do they keep from doing so, if they are not supposed to? Thanks.

Everyone gets dizzy from turning that quickly. It's how our bodies work.

It depends on the individual skater how dizzy they get. But if the spin is fast enough, you don't really see things clearly while you're turning, so you don't get dizzy enough to fall over. It also really helps to have a strong back and strong core muscles, so that the center of your body stays still while you're turning and you don't wobble.

Most coaches will tell you that if you get dizzy as you slow down and step out of the spin, look at something in the rink that isn't moving, like a sign or a post, and keep looking at that as you glide out of the spin. Looking at a fixed object helps your vision and your balance get back to normal after turning that fast.
