BBC Sport posted their "Sporting Photos of the Week", and included was this gala picture of Christina and Anthony at Cup of China. Kind of awesome to see them included in photos from all different sports!

Wow they've clearly worked really hard since China.

Although I will very much miss her old dress, I think this works really well with the programme. The gold one was kind of juxtaposing the sexy narrative (which I love but I think the judges hate) and so if this dress works better with a panel then that's good. I also think that the skirt being made of a velvet-like fabric made it look heavier, and the lighter lace has a lovely movement to it that wasn't there before.

Also really like the choreo changes - and their overall performance of it seems more confident. I love when we see a programme at this stage with fine detail changes.

I'm not really surprised that some judges put them first. Maddie and Evan were very good, but they were not at 100%, their energy level was lower due to Madison's illness. In some occasions the favorite can be beaten, as our nationals have shown since 2016. (and even before when D/W upset B/A for their first win.)
Anthony and Christina were sharp focused and able to give it everything they could. I would have been more surprised if it was 9 to 0 in favor of C/B.
It ain't the past, there is actual change in the standings more often now, where what happens on the ice actually matters. Imagine that.

Oh I'm so thrilled for them - what a comeback in the FD! They really are growing into this Carmen - which I think is something that Scott, Madi and Adrian seem to really go for in terms of choreo and pacing of the performance over the season with the way that they have solid building blocks for challengers, experiment a little during the GP and then add drama and refinement and fine detail for the second half of the season. China was 8 weeks before Nationals and Worlds is in 8 weeks so imagine what it will look like by then...

Looking ahead, IF there is a waltz RD theme next year (or even if there isn't I guess) I would love to see them do a Godfather programme. Italian Olympics, they could use the love story within it to tell their story and duh she dies so in their wheelhouse, gorgeous vintage vibe that I personally loved in their Summertime FD and finally - it's really not been used all that much, especially outside of Italian teams. Plus G/F already did it over a decade ago. So yeah, CPom or coaches, if you're lurking, please make this happen.

Plus, keep the Christina dies at the end of the program concept going, but with a twist!

Said it before and I'll say it again, the ISU just needs to give Anthony that Golden Waltz. I mean imagine the NBC fluff piece potential!
A common reason I keep hearing online about why figure skating popularity is dwelling down is because the lack of connection to the skaters itself. We really need to return to fluff pieces presented between skating programs instead of ads. With Anthony being a legacy skater and Americans always having a thing for legacy children in sports, I could really see the potential benefit it could have for both CPom in term of added popularity and gaining new fans and NBC with their revenue lol
