The music does get kind of whiny and I'm not all that keen on it, but somehow the program itself works. If that makes sense.
The singing in Hawaiian at the end was unexpected. I don't who the singer is and I wasn't near my phone to Shazam, but it's original I'll give them that.

Their ending pose was almost exactly the same as S/F's, except Marie-Jade was facing the other direction!

L/R's doll program thing is A Whole Lot, this is either gonna get better from an acting standpoint or it will get super grating after a few competitions.

I don't know if I like Carolane's dress or if I'm just fooled by it being purple. Not sure of the music yet, the first piece is sad and whiny but at least the music builds to something later.

Carolane's dress here is one of Piper's old Gala costumes if my memory serves me correctly!

Lauriault & Le Gac. I blame this program on a certain discussion about cat music in the Secret Sources thread;). No, seriously, I think this is a good challenge for them. They've needed to work on developing some facial expression and personality for a long time. Also, they look more dialed in to skating this season. That's good.

L/R dropped way below S/W after just barely leading them in the RD. (And after they beat the top two teams here just a week or two ago!) I'll be interested to see the protocols.

Sales & Wamsteeker had two 2s on the one-foot, two 3s on the diagonal step, and a 3 & a 4 on the twizzles. Lanaghan & Razgulajevs had two 2s on the one-foot, two 2s on the diagonal step, and two 4s on the twizzles. Typically speaking, Sales & Wamsteeker usually finish above Lanaghan & Razgulajevs. The RD was the unusual result, & it looks like Haley's miss on the twizzles there was the kind of obvious one that hurts the GOE.

Does anyone know if we're on schedule in Rink 4? I'm on pins and needles waiting to see which teams show up for pairs!

Very quick report from Junior men SP flight 1 - Anthony Paradis is now platinum blond. :D Did 3lutz-2toe, 2A and popped a 3loop into a double. Very bendy and voidy as usual. Pair boy Yohnatan Elizarov made credible attempts at a 3lutz (no combo) and 3loop, and did a big, easy-looking 2A.

I believe that they announced the next event would begin at 4:35 p.m. which is what was scheduled.

There were some elements that were really nice but some unfortunate errors too.
The double twist was nice, but the lift exit was extremely sketchy and the less said about the sbs 2As, the better.

This music for Kemp/Elizarov is impossibly twee, but they had some nice elements and I think they have some potential technically. Hope they are assigned to a JGP.

My brain had tried to repress this music after the last time I saw them skate, but there it goes again.

Pretty strong season debut for Stellato/Deschamps - seems like the Canadian title could be theirs for the taking.

Very nice skate from Stellato/Deschamps for this point in the season. 👏 HUGE 3twist, sbs 3toes landed, some small issues on the throw 3loop and spins. Good job overall though.

Really great from Deanna and Max. They’d added that last little bit of polish and they look great. Twist was amazing.
