I watched the pairs and then missed the first half of the women so I could go to the gym. I enjoyed the second half. Should I go back and watch the first half :saint: ??
There were some great skates. I enjoyed one skate where the skater popped two jumps but the overall choreo was still great. Imo the first groups are always worth it. There is often a gem in between!

4 of the 10 skaters in the first 2 groups qualified so some merit there.
Not to be that person, but 7 skaters total didn't qualify. So at least 3 of them were qualifying no matter what ;) But actually, it was 5 of the 10.

I thought Zsembery from Hungary was a standout, regardless of finishing near the bottom. She had fun with her program, the choreography felt fresh (nice StSq, levels aside) and she had a very positive attitude toward the whole experience.

I realize it's basically tied at the top, but I really felt like Petrokina deserves to be the leader by at least a point.

Happy for Gubanova to have a good skate here, especially after her GP events were not great. But I think she was definitely lucky on the lutz being called clean. And having the highest composition score is funny as she has the least complex program of anyone in the top six. :shuffle:

Repond and her tiny jumps and bony limbs don't do anything for me, but she skated pretty well. I do think her SP costumes is stunning though.

Pezzetta would be second on my score sheet. Loved her and her sky high jumps. :cheer:

Anna is out of this world with those jumps, I want to say harness them, but then I want to say no don’t. Lol I think the way things are going Italy is a threat for the Olympic team gold medal in their home country.

:drama: How dare you?!

Pezzetta has the biggest jumps, but Glenn, for one, still has better ones. And you call yourself President of her fan club? :angryfire

I can be the number one fan and president of someone’s fan club and still admire someone else’s jumps. Lol, Man Anna’s jumps go high and flies far.

One must never cover ABBA let alone use it for a skating program
Late to the party but can't resist agreeing to this. I'm a firm believer that nobody should be allowed to sing Abba except Abba anyway, but this cover was particularly heinous.

I went straight to the last two groups (and will be doing the same for the Men's SP). Just don't have the time or stamina for the early singles groups.

We used to use it in swing dance class. "Waterloo," to be specific. It was kind of a running joke between our teachers -- one of them liked it and one of them hated it, or something like that.
