So happy to see "Slow Horses" has returned but today I want to mention this latest season on "Fargo." I am kicking myself for jumping into this before all of the episodes have aired because these cliffhangers are killing me. Some thoughts (no spoilers)

1. Juno Temple is terrific. In the last two years I've seen her in this, "The Offer" and "Ted Lasso" and she is so on top of her craft. I am all in on "team Dot" in this iteration of "Fargo."

2. This season of "Fargo" is a little different. The villains are broad, dastardly characters, there is a strong hint of fantasy and a lot of the action takes place around Halloween. And I am sure no one will miss the "Home Alone" references. So far so good.
I've never watched Fargo before and I tried to watch this season because of the rave reviews, but it was a little too "out there" for me. And the exaggerated Minnesota accents were killing me lol.

I think the first two seasons were excellently written and cast. And they don't come off of the rails the way this one does with all of the quirky, weird storylines.

I started episode 1 of Squid Games: the reality competition

They started with Red Light, Green Light and anyone who got caught moving had to "die" essentially creating an obstacle for the people behind them. I have a feeling there will be a lot of similarity in games like the series.

There's a group of guys that are going to be very annoying so of course the cameras will probably follow them.

I didn't like the original (too much violence for the sake of violence IMO), but I've been loving this one, and I'm not usually a reality TV person. It's super addictive, and I've found it surprisingly wholesome. I'm on episode 6, and I feel like I'm rooting for almost all of them!

Has anyone else watched Blue Eye Samurai?

Currently watching it on Netflix. Fabulous animated series.

I watched the next episode of my new TV obsession Fellow Travelers. The new episode's tone was very different from the previous episodes. But damn that chemistry between Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey is out of this world. I'm dreading the end of the show, but I also really want to know how it ends. I think Fellow Travelers is going to be a show that will be very hard for me to let go and that I will be rewatching many, many times.

I love the new episode of Fellow Travels, maybe not as powerful and sorrowful as the previous episode (I am still crazily somber and messy right now when those sorrowful scenes in the previous episode striking back to my mind.), seeing the struggles all the protagonists faced in such an oppressing time in this episode made me relatable in many aspects as a queer member. These struggles are still real in today’s society, like closeted gay men in a straight marriage, straight women married to gay men, and some gay men struggling with his identity, love and faith.

For anyone considering watching 'The Couple Next Door' (British series) - don't. The top review on IMDB says "What an absoute waste of good actors" and that about sums it up. The cast did a really good job with a really terrible story and script. Particular shout out to Hugh Dennis playing against type as a creepy pervert. Sam Heughan (aka Hot Outlander Guy) has a credible Yorkshire accent once you get used to him not being Scottish (I'd also just watched the film 'Love Again' in which he also stars - it's a nice, inoffensive, romance if anyone wants a non-challenging film to pass 90ish minutes).

British viewers of this show can marvel at how they try and pass off an expensive housing estate as being in Leeds, when it's clearly nowhere in Britain (also not sure how any of the main characters could have afforded to live there). There are 6 episodes but should have been 4 (you can only half pay attention to eps 2 & 3 and still pick up the thread of what I'll begrudgingly call a plot) and I'm not even sure that would have saved it.

The 6 main characters are all flawed in some way, which isn't in itself an issue - I'm guessing that's meant to be part of the point of the story - but as a result it's hard to feel a lot of sympathy with them, except possibly Hot Outlander Guy's Equally Hot Wife who seemed to suffer most from other people's shenanigans.

In short: If you see the trailer for this show, know that is the best part of it.

I had lost all hope that SYTYCD would be back! Not sure if I’ll like the changes but I’ll take what I can get.

Glad they decided to bring back Nigel but NOT Mary Murphy. I couldn't stand her or her "Hot Tamale Train" nonsense. And... Maks! I've always loved him as a dancer, we'll see how he does as a judge.

Wonder why they decided to move the show to Atlanta? It seems an odd fit.

Probably money. A lot of stuff films in Atlanta so I imagine they have a lot of financial incentives.

Likely so. It just seems strange to set a dance competition in a city that's not New York or Los Angeles. But what do I know.

There's a major studio production company in Atlanta now, Tyler Perry Studios. I think a lot of shows and movies film there now. The place is huge, several soundstages and studios and sets. And yeah, probably more cost effective than LA or NY.

Many scenes of the MCU films were also filmed in Atlanta - it has become a major site for production.

Netflix has a movie starring Ethan Hawke, Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Myha'la Herrold and cameos Kevin Bacon. It's called Leave the World Behind. Don't bother. It's complete shit. Doomsday preppers will love it.

I do have to say that Ethan Hawke has aged quite well and looks really good. But you can find pictures and stare at those. It isn't worth watching the movie.

I think all the good parts are in the trailer. But let me know if you end up liking it. It's not my kind of movie at all.

I found a good movie on Hulu.

Susie Searches

A failing true crime podcaster solves the abduction of the campus heart throb. Dark comedy that's actually funny instead of a mislabeled drama and highly enjoyable.

OMG it was so bad ... and and and ..... I kinda loved it!   . Right in the first 3 minutes when Julia Roberts looked dead on in the camera and dropped "the line" (I won't spoil it, but it had me busting out laughing becuase I say that every freaking day), I was all in. but then again, I am weirdly fascinated by doomsday, end of the world, disaster type movies, so its kinda right up my alley. :p But the ending with Rose had me  because welp, the world's gonna end sssooooo .. might as well find out what happened! . I figure I'll be one of the first to go when doomsday comes about, so I kinda love these kind of movies. They are always so bad, but like trainwreck bad ... I just gotta see what's gonna happen next. Loved the deer by the way.

I really want to know what the words were the hystercial woman was screaming in Spanish though. I had the subtitles on and all it said was (speaking Spanish). If anyone finds a transcript online about what she said, post it please. :D

@BaileyCatts

I was LMAO at the deer because it was so badly stupid. But, yes, if you ever find a transcript of what was said in Spanish I would love to know it too.
