Nathan brushing up on an essential for his medical career--his golf game. LOL

Nathan participating in an event this weekend in Boston along with Kristi Yamaguchi, Vincent Zhou, and the Shibutanis.

Report on the NAAAP/USFS/Gold House skating clinic yesterday:

It was worth it, even though it was very crowded and we waited in line for about 45 minutes and didn't get autographs, because my cousin showed up to pick us up. I met nice skating fans from Chicago and Boston, and got to be 10 feet away from Nathan Chen and Alex Shibutani! Plus I got a Nathan sticker.

dsntedge on Instagram put a short video clip of Nathan going over to hug Shoma Uno at Worlds. There's a youtube video of their interview from Japanese TV but here in the US, I cannot view it. Here's the link for those outside the USA who might be able to view it:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=7g7rnuMhxWM

Edited to add: I see that Sheetz has that video clip in the X.com link. It was very short-- Nathan praised Yuma's skating skills. They were giving some commentary during the final group's warm up.

Last night during the NBC broadcast Nathan said he was studying in Baltimore to prepare for getting into medical school. He most likely doing a post baccalaureate program at Johns Hopkins. I checked on line and the only post bacc program I could find for the University of Maryland system was at the College Park campus. (University of Maryland's medical school is in Baltimore)
He's doing post bacc at Goucher.

Another comment. Vincent is getting more handsome every year and I like Nathan with long hair!

Nathan interview at Worlds by Japanese media. Nothing too interesting except that he says he plans a glide year so won't be attending medical school until 2026. Does that mean there's a chance for a few shows?

I guess that he has been slogging away for so many years, he deserves a year off. My guess is that he'll travel in addition to doing shows. Also, maybe he'll be developing his business with Jean-Luc Baker further.

I'm guessing it gives him plenty of time to fulfill his Olympic obligations - whatever they are. I have a feeling we will see much less of him during medical school.

Gret timing for him. Medical school applications get submitted in June for best consideration (assuming his MCAT score is where he wants it), secondaries & their essays probably by August if he was fully validated (transcripts, recs, MCAT) by AMCAS by early July, interviews (critical for medical school admission) in the fall -- maybe 6 or 8 if he's a strong candidate, offers soon thereafter. Nothing much to do during the winter/spring, and then med school starts in late June/July.

Really perfect time for him to do a lot of Olympic-related activities and--if he chooses--some tours/exhibitions post-Olympics. Nice decompression after a pretty intense few years for him.

I hope his post-bac year is going well.
