NAY! I had to turn the sound off. I would fire him based solely on his inane comments on the traditional Korean hat that someone gave Jun. He added nothing and annoyed the hell out of me. Ted Barton will do nicely, thank you! He's learned not to natter during the actual skate. As for NBC Gold I hope that they go back to no commentary or use better commentary. It was AWFUL!

Back in the day, the British commentators used to refer to a toe loop as a cherry, and a toe salchow as a cherry flip.

Not quite, the toe-loop is a cherry flip, and the flip is a toe-salchow.

My own coach was finally forced to adopt the "new" terminology when the IJS came in. She still refuses to say "camel spin" she always calls it a "parallel spin".

OMG he truly is atrocious! Soooo much annoying fluff in his commentary. As a non-celebrity commentator, I expect someone with a certain degree of technical knowledge, and he uses soooooo many words to say something so straightforward. It annoooooooying!

Hopefully Worlds won't force Paul to have an open mic the whole time if he's the there. I really do think that explains the difference in chattiness between Euros and 4Cs. Blame Korea

Late to watching the 4CC Gala and saw Paul bluntly interrupt a beautiful performance by Boyang Jin to talk about how he went from second place to fourth because of a bad performance in the long. The timing and the way he said it just grated on me.

My Paul annoyance is growing.

Things may not look good for Paul at the moment, but he's still getting more votes than any American commentators except for Terry Gannon and a few ice dancers.

While enjoying the recently posted video of Larry Loupolover skating to "Cant' Take My Eyes off of You" I couldn't help but note that Paul is going to have to dramatically increase his words per minute if he hopes to keep up with the Russian commentators! :drama:

Not quite, the toe-loop is a cherry flip, and the flip is a toe-salchow.

The toe loop was called a cherry flip when I first took the Canadian Figure Skating Association's learn-to-skate program, back in the days when dinosaurs chased us to and from the rink.

If we have to have a commentator named Paul, I want this Paul:
