Chock/Bates are at their best when she is being edgy or avant garde and you forget to watch her skating. Whenever they try straight up traditional dancing it really shows how not that great they really are ...

C/B look fabulous and are great dancers, love the outfits...and yet as I was watching I got some flashbacks of the "JFK and Marilyn" from Blades of Glory and I can't unseen it

Wasn't there some really oogie, icky ice dancers from the early 00s or late 90s--she was 16 (American) and he was in his early 20s (Russian) that married? They put some questionable photos on social media IIRC. I remember the justified outrage on GoldenSkate and here.

Not ice dancers, but Rachel Lior was 16ish when she got married to Roman Serov. I assume for him to try and get Israeli citizenship.

With high waist pants and suspenders. I mean my school age kids [9, 7, and 5) wore then in the 80's but with waist high jeans and never after 10.

Easily the best today. The only fault I see is how she really tenses up before the twizzles. But such a better program all around from Lilah and Lewis.

F/G come up with another crowd pleaser program! They had the audience in the palms of their hand. Skating felt cleaner than when I’ve seen them in the past live early on in the season, they seem well prepared.

Fear/Gibson were on fire. I've loved them since the first time I saw them years ago. That SHOULD go into 1st, imo.

I mean Fear/Gibson should rightfully go into the lead here, but if I'm ever wishing for Fear/Gibson to win please just assume I've lost my mind.

I usually notice the biggest skill level difference in Fear/Gibson at these early season competitions but the gap doesn't seem as big this year. I could be remembering it how I want though.

I can never quite make up my mind how I feel about Lilah and Lewis overall but right now that was definitely the best of the top RD's and I enjoyed that a fair amount.

I’m enjoying F/G’s RD a lot more now than when I saw them in Sheffield - they look sharper here, but maybe not quite as sharp as at Nebelhorn. But the programme isn’t as much of a win for them as it seemed it would be when the theme was announced.
