Why would anyone want to be caught and end up in jail for life. That in itself indicates he is not sane,

And killing a house full of people indicates that one is sane? Come on. These aren't exactly run-of-the-mill people.

If you haven't watched Don't Fcuk With Cats, which was a huge phenomenon on Netflix a few years ago, you'll see someone who was tired of not having the focus on what he did so he started pointing people in his own direction. A different circumstance, but still wanting the attention.

Just an FYI - Idaho is a death penalty state and as gruesome and horrific as this crime is, I wouldn't be surprised if the DA asks for it should Kohberger be found guilty.

Someone mentioned upthread about Kohberger dumping trash at 4am in the neighbors bins .....

The quadruple murder suspect “cleaned his car, inside and outside, not missing an inch,” the source, who was briefed on observations made by investigators in lead the up to Kohberger’s arrest, told CNN on condition of anonymity.

Kohberger, 28, also was seen wearing gloves multiple times outside his parents’ home in Albrightsville, Pennsylvania, before he was arrested there on Dec. 30, the source told the network.

The PhD student — who had been under surveillance for four days — at one point was observed leaving the house about 4 a.m. and putting bags in the neighbors’ garbage bins, the source added.

I am not a death penalty supporter but if the state allows it, I cannot think of a worse crime than this one to get the DP. A pre-meditated killing 4 innocent people in cold blood has got to be a crime that would qualify....... if in fact a state has the DP. Of course, he would have known this beforehand.........

Although they can sit forever on death row.

Yes, it would be traumatic and hopefully they received or are receiving counselling to help get through it.

A change of venue is apt given that the local community may have a bias. I am not even from there but I do not think I could sit on this jury as I have a strong feeling of revulsion at this guy (who I think committed these horrendous crimes).

They need a bigger jury pool like Boise? Boise is not that big either?

Update: We now have a trial date.

Good gawd. Is it normal for it to take THIS long?

Apparently, there will be hearings about the death penalty next month.

Update: The hearing about this being a death penalty case was yesterday.

We’ll see what the judge rules. I don’t want this to get into a debate about the death penalty because, there’s a PI section here to do that. But even though Idaho is a pretty conservative state, Ada County (where the change of venue moved the trial to) is where Boise is, so………
