Arrived today with a very smooth morning. I am at the Courtyard and walked over to First Watch for lunch. They were very busy and only one large booth was available. Another young lady walked in right after I did and I invited her to join me. Little did I know I was eating lunch with Milania Vaananen who skates pairs for Finland. What a lovely time I had. Of course I bought her lunch. But as Pair girls go she had a cup of coffee and a small bowl of fresh fruit. I can handle that any time. She speaks 5 languages! Now to go to Pairs practice to watch her and her partner practice.

I just spoke with the pink sweater sisters. They are doing the entire Grand Prix (except for China). They are doing the Grand Prix Final and Boston Worlds. I want to be like them when I grow up!šŸ˜‡

As a Finn, I thank you so much! She is such a determined young woman!

I know there were complaints about many of the GPs or Nationals being in smaller cities not directly accessible by transport easily. You see this with Allen, Laval etc. However, on the flip side I’ve been appreciating the benefits like free parking, restaurant options walkable from the arena to avoid rink food and snacks all day long. Loving this choice to have SA in Allen this year!!!

Now Laval in the cold winter and snow of Quebec in January is another story lol.

I'm glad you are getting to experience a Skate America (not sure if you have been to one before) and hope you are getting to meet some FSU-ers while you are there!

That vile evil woman who likes to insult female figure skaters is here of course. She has a different fur coat every day!
OMG I kept wanting to ask if the woman I thought was her is her and it is! She was sitting right in my section yesterday. So obnoxious. She took the front row of someone else’s seating and was bouncing around. She needs to be banned from front rows and accessing skaters. Or really events altogether.

Evil lady now on the end with a head scarf. Like a skating Maleficent just waiting to insult the women.

The Courtyard is the official hotel. Evil woman is always on the front row bouncing from seat to seat as she is known to buy the cheapest ticket and sit in others seat until she has to move. OnSaturday she was in the far end (directly across the aisle from the flag family). She was above the Nutrafol sign.
I have had several conversations with USFS about her being allowed to inconvenience skating fans by never sitting in her own seat. And of course her insulting female skaters. She loudly announces ā€œI like the boysā€.
She was sitting in my row in San Jose and when I heard her say her vile remarks to Emily Chan I was enraged and went to the head of security who had her removed from the arena. She was back that evening.
With all that is going on in skating now you would think USFS would get a spine and get rid of her.
