I really like the LP too. I think the interesting transitions into both of the SBS jumps are amazing and they are sooooo close together when they take off and both of Vanessa's jumps come out of nowhere.

The throw 3Lz looks bigger than last season. That one arm carry in the middle was just :swoon:

A few little early season wobbles but they look strong.

I like that they've found their niche musically. They've tried different styles over the years but they've really found the one that works for them and allows them to develop artistically in an area where very few (if any?) other pairs can actually go. I hope that these programmes continue to get better better over the season and challenge for the top step.

IDK what outfits you refer to. But IMO Vanessa...

I can't imagine that she would ever be dressed poorly, not even for practice.

Who said “poorly”? I wrote “plain.” It’s almost an insult to the sport when ladies dress plainly in competition. That’s also the problem with Tuktamysheva’s SP outfit so far this season (plain white shirt over black tights). It’s as if to tell the judges and audiences: “F*** you. I’ll wear what I want.” Non conformist, when a huge part of the appeal of skating is the glamorous aspect. I’ve no problem with women wearing unitards if they have sparkle/color/glam (like Trusova or Starr Andrews)...not just a stupid shiny buckle on the back.

...Vanessa. Not glamorous. In those catsuits. With the sparkles and the low-cut backs and the shiny leather straps. I'll just...sorry, I'm gonna need a few moments to process that concept...

She’s stunning! Ask anyone on Twitter or Instagram and they will say she’s one of the most beautiful women in figure skating. When you’re naturally beautiful, you don’t need bejeweled costumes to turn heads.

Although Vanessa does wear bejeweled costumes sometimes...and she rocks them like no other https://www.instagram.com/p/BbqzDNRFbc6/

I love Vanessa in both catsuits and dresses. And the back of her costumes with various designs of straps and buckles/fasteners is always interesting IMO.

I'm sure she is working with a coutour designer and in my view, she is one of the most fashionable ladies in the world.

I don't agree at all that Vanessa's costumes are plain. Very much to the contrary, I would say they are both creative and sophisticated.

I don't see what's wrong with black/white and not sparkle/glam.

It's nice to have a diversity of costumes in FS. Simple can sometimes = elegant. IMO.

And I love the backs of Vanessa's costumes.

^^ An informative interview. It's interesting to learn about the importance of timing of elements in relation to cutting and choreographing programs. Toward the end of the interview, V & M were very complimentary of both Guillaume and Charlie White in working with them on new programs this season. :) They have worked with John Kerr so well for the last two seasons that they wished to try working with other creators to further challenge themselves, and to break through their comfort zone. I always enjoy hearing from V&M in their own words. Cool.

I'm tired of the Catsuits. Something a bit more classic and demure would be a welcome change. But hey, if you have it flaunt it right?

That red two-piece is quite something. I love the breastplate look of the top!

And the charcoal catsuit is, as always, spectacular. Now we just have to wait to find out what Morgan will be wearing too!

Maybe another shirt from Zara, like his Sound of Silence costume.

It's hilarious to me that he just strolled into Zara to pick up a shirt when other skaters are spending serious money on their costumes, and he ended up wearing it to the Olympics. It's kind of endearing.

No one flaunts it like Vanessa so just keep on doing it.

He did? Wow, that's precious. Of course, when you look like Morgan and you partner looks like Vanessa you can pretty much wear anything and look good.

I am one who hates frou-frou, sequins and flying bits of fabric. I ove the clean lines of J/C's costumes and think they emphesize good lines and gorgeous positions. When there's too much going on with the costume it detracts from the skating, imho. That's why i wasn't enamoured with the sequined gray catsuit for Say Something.

The fact that so many ladies are copying Vanessa's costume aesthetic, as well as many pairs trying to copy their moves and their hot connection tells us all we need to know, IMO. :)

I honestly love catsuits! If you can wear one and look good, then by all means do it!!! 😍

I really get James/Cipres vibes from Hocke/Blommaert’s FS this year. They had a rough performance at Skate America but I think when it’s clean, the J/C fans might love it.

Wow! :watch: :encore:

Morgan's love of tunics continues, I see. :D They look wonderful.

:swoon: ITA with the posted comment: 'It's what we deserve!' Yep J/C deserve it and their fans too! :cheer2:

Great costumes! It looks like more thought went into this year's sp costumes, particularly for Morgan, than went into last season's sp costumes, particularly for Morgan. ;) Did they say that Cizeron also offered costume ideas for the sp he created?

I know he designed Vanessa's SP costume; we're currently discussing whether he had a hand in Morgan's over in the P/C thread. I think it looks like it could be one of his designs, but nobody knows for sure one way or the other.

Ah, probably! Especially since as J/C said in their Ted Flett interview at AC, that Cizeron came fully and extraordinarily prepared when he choreographed their sp, attending to all kinds of details he'd thought out beforehand. He even cut their music, and laid out their technical elements. :)
