I was here from Maxim Naumov and only ticked off six boxes in total. Got “brilliant” during Yumas skate.

I’ve got 10 in total from the men, but I think my card is more suited to what he’ll say in free skates. Great fun though, thank you @MacMadame

Oh, now I see the sparkles on his tunic. Nathan would never ever. But if you can't see them on TV while you're skating, are the sparkles really there? This could be the skating equivalent of that great philosophical quandary - if a tree falls in the forest but no one hears it, did it really fall?

Huh, just checked here after posting my opinion on Jin's SP lol. Must be one of the few who think his LP is better choreographed. Not a fan of most of the Men's SPs.

Sato's PCS is... lol to me.

Watched Yuma and omg put that sal tracing in a museum it is absolute perfection

Hilarious how the judges were scoring all those amazing programs conservatively to leave room for Yuma and then he laid down the skate of the day and blew past the competition without needing any help from them. Being a fan of a skater who is objectively undeniable on a good day and is ALSO a judges'/federation darling is what living life on easy mode as a trust fund baby must feel like. We're getting you that Olympic title, prince!

Just catching back up - I think this is my favorite men's program of the season - can't wait to see it live in Montreal - I also love Midge Ure. Could be in first for me.

Japanese Nationals must be heartbreaking with so many great skaters. Imagine being able to skate like that and only being 5th in your country. That quad lutz was so gentle I wasn’t sure it was a quad

japanese Nationals in Men this year was probably the best competition I ever saw. Mind blowing.

Just finished watching this event. O-M-G .... that final group was PHENOMENAL!!! My jaw just kept hitting the floor over and over again.

Kagiyama: I can't even think of enough superlatives to spew about him. Chris screamed: "Insane" and "Brilliant" and he was not wrong. For me, this kid has it ALL ... in spades. LOVED how he skated to every single note of that music. I could just go on about him forever but I won't. LOVE HIM TO PIECES. Nuff said.

Shun Sato and Sota Yamamoto: Both just dazzling. As Miffy said, "imagine being able to skate like that and only being 5th in your country." I didn't see the Japanese Nats. Is there still a link anywhere where I could see the men's final? I obviously missed something truly special.

Junhwan Cha: I found his Masquerade Waltz absolutely mesmerizing. And, he sure looks to be in great shape ... not the slightest bit out of breath at the end.

Boyang Jin: TEARS! He was absolutely fabulous and I was SO happy for him to have that skate at this time in front of his home audience. Scores and placements aren't everything in skating .... it's special moments like this that I remember even more.

Wesley Chiu: YAY for him!! How he lands some of those jumps is a mystery but I hope he keeps on doing it in the FS. He made Canadian fans proud today. Atta boy!

Other honorable mentions for me would be:
Torgashev: beautiful, clean skate to a wonderful program
Hiwatashi: 1 fall but otherwise excellent
Shaidorov: I just like him ... a lot.
Yudong Chen and Juheon Lim: a couple of young skaters I'm not familiar with but they were both great

Sadovsky: Nice 4sal but then watered-down jumps; but, oh, the choreography and the way he performs it! I could watch him all day. He deserved every single PCS point and then some. And, come on, he's got such pretty eyes ... that has to count for something, right?

So, now, I just have the women left to watch but that will have to wait for a bit. After what I just saw from the top men, I'm just not ready for the women yet. I want to "ride this high" for awhile. I totally agree with Skatingguy .... "best final flight of any international competition so far this season."
