Yeah, I was assuming that he’d unofficially link with Eteri at Nepela, as she (or another Eteri-team member) is at Nepela for Egadze and Davis/Smolkin.

what I do not get - he has to be there for the draw? So does he keep going to these competitions in order to hope that some organizer does a Jgp blunder from a few years back where four Chinese pairs were allowed to compete?

Not necessarily. The team leader could have drawn for him, I think.

Who knows why he wasn't withdrawn until after the draw.

No, this is not necessary. I remember competitions when representatives of other disciplines and other countries helped :D

Gurdzhi has some nice qualities. He needs a lot more speed, but not bad.

Milosz clearly was forewarned - he was already warming up on the ice when Shaidorov was announced. But I did not see anything happen during the warm-up
