Amy Cui / Kenny Eckert split up today.
Kenny went home to PA right after the Nationals and returned to Michigan today. They had a meeting with Igor and the coaching team and when Igor talked of the plans for this year, Amy dropped the bomb that she wants a change of partner. Both Kenny and the coaches were blindsided.
The timing was unfortunate: if Kenny had been told the partnership was off earlier, then he could have stayed in PA while he planned who and where to do tryouts.
Too bad they were a promising team, and they achieved a lot of success in their first year together going to JGP and becoming Team USA
