I watched Argyle this weekend. It's not the greatest movie ever but I love the cheese at the end.

How many movie heroes are we going to get that save the day by
figure skating. I love the sit to upright spin while shooting the bad guys. And the modified Dirty Dancing lift was epic cheese.

The first part of the movie was just kind of there but the end was worth all of it. I enjoyed it.

Oh boy went to the theaters for the first time in a long time, the fall guy was about 12 hours too long, needs about 18 more editors, and I thought this was gonna be more focused on the eyes of a stunt man, and not so much a love story, and a suspense crime murder thriller. I don’t know. We almost walked out of it.

Raise Hell: The Life & Times Of Molly Ivins is a 2019 documentary about a Texas newspaper columnist in the 60s. A left-leaning columnist in the 60s. In Texas. Strong lady!! I did not know of Ivins before seeing this movie, I think it came to my attention while watching a different DVD and learning of this one in the previews. Glad this happened because this is a good movie and Ivins was a very interesting women! The kind to not "suffer fools gladly" which she seemed to come across often in Texas politics. :D If any of this has caught your attention, I definitely recommend this one.

I have still not seen the Civil war.Is it worth watching?

I forgot that I saw this with friend and posted about Molly Ivins instead. The trailer for Civil War is really good. And most of the movie is decent, but the last half hour, the script implodes and less and less makes sense. One of my friends was really disappointed and said, "what was that"??!! He was expecting more of a popcorn action movie I think. Which it was, but it tried to be social commentary at the same time. Maybe the director/producers took on too much for a 98 minute movie. This probably would have been more successful as a mini-series.

Thanks. Sounds like it may be worth watching, though not an Oscar contender. Why only 98 minutes? These days typical movies are two hours or longer.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes - Saw it and loved it! I hope it does well enough that we get the other two movies!

This movie looks good and stars 50 Cents!

I know one cannot take it too seriously, but the implausibility of everything surrounding the "crime" was what irked me the most (plus the fact the Stephanie Hsu has basically only one scene and is only on screen for something like 5 minutes - it's likely a lot of her scenes were cut).

I'm a Liam Neeson fan because I love the drama, suspense and mystery with the characters he's portrayed. I've had to wait until the movies were finally available on STARZ, MGM+ which used to be the EPIX channels and Peacock because I'm no longer able to go to the movie theatre to watch them.

For me, there have been four movies that really stood out. I assume that most of you have seen these movies. If you haven't, I highly recommend them.

The movie I'm really looking forward to seeing is In the Land of Saints and Sinners.

I think serious dramas and sometimes Marvel movies can be over two hours, but Civil War is basically a popcorn movie made to be short enough that theatres can have more showings and get more customers into and then out of the theatre. I think I've read articles about theatre owners NOT liking movies are too long for these reasons. The exception being if those two hour plus movies pack in a full crowd.

I saw "The Fall Guy" this past weekend. Enjoyed myself thoroughly. I thought Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling had decent chemistry, and the ending was satisfying in many ways (hi, Lee Majors). The action was, not surprisingly, top notch. The bloopers at the end were fun too.

I had wondered if LM was going to make a cameo in The Fall Guy but maybe that info should've been noted as a spoiler.

I want to see Challengers.

I've been seeing different movie houses and groups celebrating the 25th anniversary of "The Blair Witch Project" and the importance of that film going viral on the internet for it's success. And I laud that. But do you know what I would have liked more? If people would have believed that this "found footage" theme really was a documentary and that this belief remained as the movie slowly made it's way around the country. I understand at Sundance, when people didn't know it was fiction, that it frightened the bejesus out of folks. But as it was, it did show what the internet could do.

I think my favorite found footage films are "Cloverfield" "The Bay" and "Paranormal Activity" (the first one.) But cheers to "Blair Witch."

LM's cameo was already spoiled in several reviews for the movie. How he appears in it was not, so I didn't include that info.

What I was not prepared for was the appearance of the original theme for the Fall Guy TV series. That made me laugh loudly enough for a lady sitting next to me in the theater to look at me like I was crazy. Then I explained why, and she smiled. She hadn't recognized the song.
