IOC statement:

Sounds like the medal ceremony will happen

This is so weird so they’re going to have a podium presentation with the bronze level of athletes just vacant? Why can’t they just give this to Canada? It’s clear and simple. No fighting no bickering. Everybody needs to put their big boy underpants and big girl underpants and big they/them underpants on. This should’ve been settled years ago. It’s clear and simple and they keep complicating it. OK it’s time for peanut butter cups.

You just pour peanut butter vodka into a red Solo cup? Attagirl.

What happens when they do eventually give Canada the bronze are they going to re-create some podium in some Olympic city where they just go to stand there on the bronze level podium all by themselves? This is beyond ridiculous. This is so clear and simple and cut and dry. Let’s move on to other things.

They'll probably get their own medal ceremony at a skating competition. My guess would be Skate Canada this fall or maybe Worlds in Boston.

It sucks but it wouldn’t be fair to keep the US and Japan waiting any longer. :(

Too bad we just had Worlds, but I doubt Team USA would mind a repeat ceremony in Boston?

Medal allocation announcement
Olympic medal allocation ceremonies for the @ISU_Figure Figure Skating Team Event from Beijing 2022 will be held at the Champions Park at 5 pm on 7 August.
Other Olympic medal reallocation ceremonies will be held on 9 of August, with a 13.45 start.

Note that neither item specifies what medals or to whom but USA & Japan were mentioned in the news conference.

No, but CAS hasn't kept it's hands clean in this case at all.
How do you figure? They could only rule so quickly after RUSADA and the ROC dragged their feet on the initial investigation/report on Valieva's doping. They tried, as far as I can tell, to be as fair as possible and still basically told Russia that their ever-changing reasons for Valieva's positive test were laughable at best.

They were the ones who said that Valieva had the right to keep competing because she was a "protected person" even though that's not what "protected person" means in any of the bylaws.

Well, that wouldn't have changed the outcome of the TE since she'd already competed in that. It did only impact the final results of the Women's event but the IOC & ISU made sure to let the 25th place finisher in the SP through to the FS because they didn't agree with CAS on letting her compete in that.

No, but my point is that they have still ruled in Russia's favor in the course of this incident even when there was nothing justifying the decision.

A special three-person onsite CAS panel determined that Valieva was a "protected person" and could compete. Are the same people on the panel in the Canadian case? Also, there were extended hearings, evidence, etc.in the Canadian case, which there wasn't onsite, where they made a quick decision.
