FP protocols: https://skatecanada.ca/results/CHA24SeniorMenFP2DRO.pdf

So the top 16 Senior women today including Hetty Shi (competing at Challenge with a bye; Ruiter & Schizas also have byes) will advance? And Lulu Lin and Aleksa Volkova could petition to be added to Nationals if they are healthy/ready?

ETA: Oops, I forgot about Medland Spence and Dupuis, both of whom I posted about earlier in this thread about having byes due to Warsaw Cup!

Yes, there should be 15 senior men there (the 13 who competed here plus Chiu and Gogolev).

There should be 13 additional qualifiers (top 14 not including Hetty Shi). They will join Medland-Spence, Dupuis, Schizas and Ruiter at nationals.

(Edited a typo there).

Uma Zagele dropped a couple of places so Justine Lussier is in the final qualifying spot now.

Brezden struggled to open her program but made her second triple lutz in combination and landed a nice triple flip too. Nice triple sal double axel double toe. Triple loop. She's back on track now.

Breken's ISU bio says Lance Vipond choreographed both of her programs this season: https://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00117788.htm
Her FP music is Lost in Time by Karl Hugo / Theme from Somewhere in Time by John Barry.

ETA current top 4 with 10 skaters left:

1 Breken Brezden MB 50.73 (11) 104.06 (1) 154.79
2 Grace Johnson AB/NT/NU 46.99 (15) 91.90 (2) 138.89
3 Marie-France D Amour QC 47.61 (13) 90.66 (4) 138.27
4 Julianne Lussier QC 47.30 (14) 88.45 (6) 135.75

Really rough skate for Gover/Wilson-French. She wasn't over her skates at all. ETA: They dropped to 8th, and he hightailed it out of the K&C while she was still sitting there looking despondent.

Brezen easily takes the lead. She scored higher in the free skate in Nice (had higher PCS there too). Nice to see her rebound from a shaky start. She had 2 under rotations and a q and got credit for the rotation on 5 triples.

Wow I was asking myself has Landry ever done a triple toe and then she does a double axel triple toe combo. I don't think I've seen her try a triple as the second jump in a combo before so that's great to see. Her jumps are huge. She had two shaky landings and a popped loop but this is a step in the right direction.

Marie-Raphaēle Savoie into third and is very happy to have qualified. I love the kiss and cry reactions.

Mia Clarke did not skate to potential and her TES on the tracker was only in the 30s (her final element wasn't in yet). Not sure this will qualify.

No surprises in dance -- the top 3 remain the top 3. I actually liked Gauthier/Thieren's performance better than Nguyen/Giang's, though. G/T were more passionate, and I thought they had better flow.

Awww Mia Clarke drops all the way to 12th and she looks so sad :(

Looks like Uma Zagele is in a qualifying spot now.

Kara Yun was having the skate of her life until she fell on her second triple flip. I was thinking "winner takes it all" might be appropriate today until then.

Miclette started well with a triple flip double axel single axel combo. Later she popped a flip into a single. I love this program and her interpretation though. Down ona triple two which will get a +REP.

TES is only 41.4 and will drop after the +REP.

Sad to see Miclette struggle this year :(

Miclette into 5th and her TES actually went up so an element must have not been entered yet when the program ended.

Woodley had a pretty good skate and she did a nice triple flip, so I'm curious why it wasn't in her short program yesterday. A few mistakes but not a disaster or anything.

Woodley into third overall but only a few points behind Landry. Broke 100 in the free.

Pomerleau's opening triple toe triple toe was huge, better than yesterday. Too bad she couldn't get the triple lutz in there today (she did two doubles).

I posted this in the Canadian Women's news thread in GSD after Sectionals - hope Amy has another solid skate next:
Amy Shao Ning Wang was 2nd overall [to Shiryaeva in BC] and in the FP (104.77), skating to "Windmills of Your Mind" (piano version that segues into Streisand's "The Way We Were," choreo. by Joey Russell - starts at the 52-min. mark in the replay video (after the ads play): https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x98uw8a?start=3122

Amy Shao Ning Yang is such a beautiful skater. Pretty solid so far. Until a step out on the double axel. She landed all the triples she tried (up to triple flip) and they all looked good to me. The GOE on the tracker was all positive.

Shiryaeva into second but she looks happy with her score. Amy Shao Ning Yang will skate in the final warmup group at nationals (and I think she is going to win this competition)
