He's looking for a new partner. There are certainly plenty of options available, both in Europe & in North America.

It must be bewildering for the juniors to learn all those patterns and then move up and get hit with this "LOL YOLO nothing matters!" approach.
Well, they've been learning patterns for years up through novice level, and then one more (partial or whole) each year in junior. One could think of the way the patterns are used in junior RD as a gradual transition from pattern dance only in lower levels to pattern snippets only in seniors.

no pattern news for Sr now. Jr has two patterns, which is quite a challenge to choreograph.
I don't hate the oh-so-creative decade themes as much as some but I really hate all the ridiculous technical (or non-technical) element requirements.

Though even favouring uptempo programmes and fun and contemporary music choices, all the RDs after Finnstep/musicals start to merge into one cheesy blob. The most memorable RDs this quad are from the season the juniors got to do a tango (Mrazeks dicing with death by skirt, BaBeau waltz tango, Fradji/Fourneaux Hall of the Mountain King, Neset/Markelov Lady Gaga, Swiss skeletango babies I miss you).
I will cringe at and mute any team that uses Macarena. I hated it already in th 90s.
We already got a Macarena short axis choreo step (Nette/Westwood in the 2022-23 'latin' RD).
I’m convinced that the Ice Dance Technical Committee secretly hates ice dance.
What's the likelihood that there will be changes to the IDTC after next season?
What country-themed program has ever scored well in dance? Judges have hated them in past (see, e.g., Belbin/Agosto, Hubbell/Donohue, even arguably LeGacs this season).
I know most people were hoping for John in a kilt encore (and he gave the people what they wanted at Worlds), but I liked the Kerrs' Johnny Cash FD from 2009-10. As far as I remember the main thing holding back their scores was John's ability to mess up the twizzles in a new and creative way each time out.

Samuelson/Bates' Chicks RD was also infinitely better than their FD that year.

90s is also my favourite era of country music, but I'm not sure which teams I could see doing a good, non-hokey country programme.

oh don't worry most of them will just skate to Britney Spears Backstreet Boys Madonna and more Michael Jackson;)
Any team that skates a tribute to Pasha in her Madonna era 90s RD will be my new fave.

Simova/Aksenov (SVK) are done

That's a shame. :( Their Dracula FD was the best Zanni programme for a long time.

Only this could stop me gaging about the RD choices for next season. What an absolute, utter waste of training time.

So since Laurence Fournier-Beaudry doesn't have French citizenship yet, does this mean they are aiming for the 2030 Olympics in France?
surely not? Hasn't he had continuous issues with his back? Which is so much easier to deal with in your 20s vs age 35 which is what he will be at the 2030 games. I think France will fast track her citizenship.

Ugh. That's basically all I have to say.

There are so many reasons I don't care for this, the majority of those are because it irks me that he can treat his former partner of so many years so badly and continue working and choreographing for someone who has been banned for sexual abuse allegations and then go on to find success despite all of this? I guess in tune with what is acceptable in this current global climate even in the highest of offices I guess!

Also - I just don't care about what they have to offer? He is pretentious, I think she'll do whatever he says to find success and we'll just end up with boring programmes that don't bring much new to the sport.

Come on. They have talent. Hasn't ice dance been pure pretentiousness for the last three cycles with very few exceptions. Let's just see, it can't be more dreary than it currently is, right?

The whole caption is pretentious.
You'd think the comms/social media person assigned to write the copy for this announcement would have considered the background circumstances involved and written something a bit more humble and way less tone-insensitive. But given that they made this announcement on this day of all days, I'm guessing that self-awareness and propriety is lacking in the entire team associated with this new pairing.

Does Fournier-Beaudry have to be released by Canada first before she can compete for France?
