Not quite back yet, but there's still a few weeks before Worlds, and he didn't skate that great at this event last year, and then was amazing at Worlds.

177.65 = 2nd Place

I think this program really lags in the middle. The beginning and end are great, but the music really is dull in the middle. Could have a lot more impact otherwise.

Although JPN TV coverage is tape delayed and starts early morning (five hours from now), I could not resist seeing what is going on. I was hoping Yuma would do well, but it seems he exceeded my expectations. Congratulations, Yuma!
Please understand JPN sent only the B Team (2nd, 4th and 5th at Nationals) to 4CC.
Sure, some of them may not be next Daisuke or Yuzuru, but they ARE good skaters!
Looking forward to seeing the actual skating, tomorrow morning.

I'm actually fine with the podium order, even if the scores make no sense to me (that PCS gap between Cha and Sato is wtf). Would have had Jin>Yamamoto, and then Shaidorov is fine at 6th too.

Good skating all around though, amazing to see the top 6 all skating well.

Had an all too brief amount of sleep before the aforementioned decided it was time for breakfast!! I've now watched the remainder of the (paused) YouTube stream. There will have to be some major sleeping after my Zoom meeting this morning if I am to watch the Free Dance and get to early church tomorrow morning. I'm very proud of Wesley and I'm definitely looking forward to being at the men's event in Montreal.
