Kim's costume is decidedly unsparkly. It's quite un-Korean of him. Doesn't he know that diamonds are forever?

I'm really for Rio to win it all. He has 10 points advantage, but the pcs should be really lower

Congratulations Rio!
Since JPN Junior boys, just like Junior boys anywhere, are quite unpredictable it is pure serendipity to see Rio come back from 10 point deficit.
It is notable that boys enrollment in figure skating programs in JPN, shot up after Daisuke and Yuzuru.
The ratio used to be 5 to 1 in favor of girls, but now it is aproaching parity. It was unbelievably lucky to have found diamonds in the rough, such as Daisuke and Yuzuru, with such a small participating base.
Because their peak years differ, Daisuke fans' sons are just getting into Novice/Juniors, Yuzuru fans' boys are still in Pre-Novice. It used to be some blocks (similar to American Regionals) have less than 10 competitors in Junior Men. Now, it is double that number, and increasing.
By the way, "The Golden Eye" was the BEST 007, IMHO!
Edited to add: Last time JPN won JGPF Men/Women was in 09-10 Season, by Yuzuru Hanyu and Kanako Murakami. Since then RUS won Women JGPF 10 years consecutively, till Mao Shimada won it last year, although for two seasons (20 and 21) it was not held due to COVID.

I'm catching up now and it was kind of an underwhelming event, like the junior men's field in general for the last couple of years. Well deserved win by Nakata, though, and I enjoyed his free more than I usually enjoy his skating. He has really nice jumps (except for the axel). I think another year in juniors would benefit him, though; he's still unpolished and lacking in distinctive characteristics to set him apart in a more competitive field, and as we all know the competition in the senior men's field in Japan is really fierce.

When Seo Minkyu and Yanhao Li qualify next year, watch out.

Rio isn't age-eligible for seniors until the 2026-27 season.
