 at some of this choreography. I'm used to him being somewhat flashy and flamboyant in short programs but they both have a look of intensity as they power around the ice. That carry lift he does on his shoulders before the actual lift element looks.. lazy?

Fabulous SBS spins to end.

The door was open but the sbs errors happened. Deanna & Maxime should lead going into the free .... as expected.

That was actually pretty good. I rather like them better than Con/Mac.

Well, that was fun. I managed to see half the men and all the pairs live. Will catch up with dance and ladies later today.

Once in a while someone skates a program that you just want to watch on repeat. For me Deanna and Max's SP is one of those programs. A brilliant choice of music and it just elevates the team to another level. Just love it. That is all.

S-D/D should be first…
But I’m upset by the relatively poor scores received by Peng/Wang.
4 judges gave Peng Wang in the 6s for PCs. That’s lower than many juniors, and most seniors, in the bottom of men and ladies etc. Sit those judges in a room and make them watch all the skaters given 6s and 7s in Grand Prix, nationals events, worlds and have them explain on camera their rationale.

Very odd especially given this is their home event.

Just now catching up. I still wonder why they dug up the Mokhov time capsule? I thought she said she was done, done, done at the end of last season.

No, neither of the Mokhovs have indicated they're done competing. Not sure who you're thinking of but not Maria.

Ambrossini can come over and I will comfort him for screwing up that 3s which may have prevented them from getting a marginal lead here. :saint:

Just catching up.

The Pairs seem to have gotten the memo to keep the audience awake and the weepy, slow ballads and emo instrumentals to a minimum, at least in the SP.

Mokhova/Mokhov might be a throwback to when their parents were in grade school, but in their movement and timing unison between elements, they are a good throwback. Papa Mokhov is a fine-looking dude.

I liked Zhang/Yang's program, particularly the way they entered their jumps. They skated with a lot of energy.

Anna Valesi has lovely lines, and I loved her lift positions. I hope they thrive at Bergamo.

Wang, an actual relic of the '80's, doesn't look that old to me. I hope she's happy in this partnership.

I can't keep track: has anyone claimed Ambrosini as their husband? He's going to be a :grope: 50- and 60-something. I wish men still wore real hats, because he would rock one.

Stellato-Dudek/Deschamps skate was just a few points behind their PB at SA, which is the hand-down on the throw. A little less than a month before they are back to China. So would G/A, but they have NHK in between. Perreira/Michaud will be the best-rested.
