I should be okay for this event, I've been in a night owl phase lately. If I get sleepy it will be the ladiiieeeezzzzzzzz fault

wow I think that was one of the cleanest 3 loops in the back half of a combo. They usually look very short.
And her 2A managed to look underrotated to me

Anyways this program is much nicer and much better choreographed than Higuchi's snooze, even If she is one of my favorites.

I slept until 10:30 am, so I might make it through the ladies.
But not if we have generic girl music.

Aoki, Yuna 🇯🇵
Coach: Kensuke Nakaniwa, Makoto Nakata
Music: Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Ray

3Lz<+3Lo< - leg wrap
2A<

Fly Camel Spin 4
Ch Combo Spin 4

3F!
Step Sequence 3
Layback Spin
4 (3 after review)

The skating quality from a somewhat random Japanese skater is quite astounding - lovely moments in the program with the blades. The leg wrap does mar the jumps to some extent.

58.28 = 1st Place

I'm not a fan of this "Gatsby" music but Yuna was good. Lovely presentation.

Lutz and axel both looked a bit under to me.

She seemed very hesitant going into that loop. I almost thought she was just going to say nope and move on.

Nice skate, but not the most memorable performance.

Arakawa who is commentating on Japanese TV, felt Yuna Aoki 3Lz+3Lo was too severely evaluated.
She said 3Lo as second jump is extremely difficult and if you rotate it completely, one will tend to over-turn, so slightly under-rotated is the only way to do it.
No wonder, nobody even tries +3Lo anymore.
Arakawa agrees with 2A under-rotation call.
