Ted says the building is sold out for the senior events. That's good. I only wish some of the Canadian Nationals were shown on TV .... even if it was just recap shows or something. Not everyone can do the livestream times and I'm afraid that, if nobody ever sees a moment of figure skating on TV, most people will just completely forget about the sport. And what a shame that would be.

The Carandiucs have never really grabbed my attention before, but I liked that a lot.

Poor Andrei with the ending poses though - he almost lost his balance again!

ETA: And choreo by Andrew Poje. It's nice to hear about him being involved with choreography; I didn't realize he was still involved in skating that much, aside from doing shows with Kaitlyn.

Are they holding the sr events in the same rink they're holding the jr ones? The arena that only seats 2500 people? Or are they holding the sr events in the main arena that seats 10k?

I'm afraid this tango program doesn't suit them.

Oof, awkward fall. :(

Oh, this is one of the K/C scenes I hate to see so much. What a shame about the freaky fall on the lift. The program really did have some very nice moments.

Everything is in the same arena.

Good question. I Iwas wondering the same thing. If it was the 10,000-seat main arena that was sold out, that would be fantastic for a Cdn. Nats event.

After last year, I think it's probably wise to hold Nationals in a smaller arena this time around. A "small" audience will feel like a big audience if the arena is full. It will make for a much more energetic atmosphere for both the skaters and the spectators.

The boards must be miked, because every time a team grabs them, you can hear it.
The boards almost always have mikes attached - this time they are using a speed skating arena with extra thick boards so that may affect their placement/the sound.

Briere/Levesque into 2nd. I thought that might happen. It was a nice skate, but they were a little wobbly on some of the elements.

These teams are not doing anything to keep me awake. I enjoyed Cincon-Debout/Celestino most so far of the top teams.

Absolutely mesmerizing performance by Summer and Nicholas. It's almost unbelievable that this is her first year as an ice dancer. What a future they may have. Wow.

Alexander looked like he was on his last legs during that last twizzle, but I don't think he actually screwed it up. Lost a level, though.

Loved the opening move of Sandrine and Quentin's program. So cool. Perfect twizzles. Wonderful performance throughout. And, then the ovation. Gosh, that has to feel awesome.
