Hanns/Neudecker - opened with a double twist, hand down from her on their SBS jumps. Absolutely lovely throw triple though that went with the music. I'm really not understanding why this team hasn't been added to the ISP yet. USFS should at least send them to Golden Spin to get the 4CCs or Worlds TES mins. They're quickly improving and close to the same class as the Mokhovs, PlaFern and SmirSiia, IMO.

Baram/Tioumentsev - Whee - how many times this season do we get to see Blah Blah Blah Cha Cha Cha from them? I think this is at least the 4th time out of a projected 7 (JGPF, Nationals and Jr Worlds) for me, lol. Nice triple twist. Oooooo! Landed their SBS triples! She opened out on the throw and only did a double - I think she wanted to go for a triple but changed her mind at the last minute. Little Miss Flexibility there with the catch-foot position on the death spiral. And, once more, I'm going to gripe about the lack of synchronization from the GPI pairs teams. Such an annoying deficiency for most of their teams. I see no reason this won't lead, though.

Well, makes sense that it's a duet cover! (or Sara Bareilles with ?) Hanns/Neudecker into 1st with 56.58. I like this music for them.
I agree about the music - it really works for them.

Yeah, Baram/Tioumentsev killed it and lead by 10 points, lol.

Senior Pairs SP protocols: https://ijs.usfigureskating.org/leaderboard/results/2022/32047/SEGM004.html

Baram/Tioumentsev scored 66.80 (I think their 2LzTh today looked planned and I assume they will go for a throw triple - at least one - in their FS on Thursday).

ETA: Sonia competes in the Junior FS beforehand (placed 5th in SP earlier today) so I guess it will depend on how much energy she has left.

I remembered all of this was on Peacock very late and quickly pulled it up and opened the senior womens short as the screen said the event had ended. I rewound and got to watch almost all of the skaters except the first two or three.

Of course disappointed to see Sonja Hilmer have a subpar short :drama: I hope she can really make up some ground in the free. I also loved Emilia Murdock’s Westside Story! She is a wonderful all around skater….if only she were a stronger jumper. Wren Warne Jacobsen’s Beatles was really entertaining and an excellent music mix. I’d like more stretch and line from her but good job. Elsa Cheng brought the jumps but not the artistry. Sure hope she can work on her presentation to bring the level up to her good jumping technique. Alexa Gasparatto is stunning on the ice. Her triple flip was so high and beautiful. Her dress…amazing! looks like Rohene works with her. Would love to see her make it to nationals too. Not enough spots:mitchell:

Missed the pairs darn it! And darned Peacock for no replays!!!

Re-posting from earlier today:
I just caught up on the Intermediate Pairs FS. I'm really impressed with Grohne/McPike, who won the event. WASA is doing some good things with their pairs program. I was also pleasantly surprised at Finkelstein/Williams, who are from my neck of the woods! Chris Knierim was in KnC and at the boards, along with their main coach, Mari Malama. They have a really beautiful look together - her posture and carriage is wonderful. They didn't try any overhead lifts or a death spiral (just a pivot figure), but there's a solid foundation there with more pairs training. Also notable was the 3rd place team of Tanner/Herbert - they did a couple of overhead lifts, but just a bit less refined and messier overall than FinWill. Krasnopeeva/Apter, who were 4th also didn't attempt any overhead lifts, but they have a cute brother-sister vibe - she's a firecracker, but he didn't let her presence overpower them.

They're running about 20 minutes behind in Lansing, so Junior Pairs first warm-up group just took the ice. There's still time to get your Peacock up and running if you want to watch!

Church/Church - okay, this is one funky music edit - it goes from classical to rock 'n roll. They started off okay, but lift fail as their third element. Their pairs spin is sad and tragic except for the exit, which was interesting and well-executed. This music edit is something else... We've had classical, 50s, 60s, 70s... And now... this end... I'm not sure if they were finished so far ahead of the music that they just improvised some pointing and kneeling on the ice or what. Look, nothing was TRAGIC (except most of that pairs spin), but it just wasn't quality. At all.

I've got the Cock on the big screen and I'm sort of paying attention to this. My dog is all in her feels going crazy outside :dog: so I should probably check on her. I don't need to experience the 8milionth "Never Enough" program in my lifetime so doggo it is.

Delis/Schwab - "Never Enough" - Hmmmm... Their lifts - he actually seems pretty solid but she has zero extension on her positions in the air. I can't get over that he looks like how I would imagine John Baldwin Jr would look with a full head of hair - right down to the receding hairline. Another sadly pairs spin. Sigh. I hate what IJS has done to spinning in pairs. These days you see better pairs/dance spins in ice dance than you do in pairs.

ETA - the looks on their faces when their scores were announced, lol! Like, they were happy, but they also know it wasn't great.

Martins/Felberbaum - just skating around for the most part. I believe THIS is the program that @Amy L should have skipped to take care of the doggo!

Martins/Felberbaum skating thru their elements again. If they're not doing any elements this week, I hope this is a precautionary thing that will sort itself out by Nationals. Because, like, if they can't actually do any elements that would be very concerning.

The music is kind of interesting, so that's something!

These kids look sort of embarrassed and bored at the same time. It may have been a millennia ago since I was in high school, but I recognize those faces!

Wow. They didn't even attempt their choreo sequence or death spiral. I do hope they'll be fine by Nationals.

I agree! The music was interesting. I can't wait to see the protocol to see exactly how their PCS broke down because I'm at a loss to figure out how the judges could evaluate the composition. Maybe they got some presentation points for looking sufficiently sheepish about getting out there and going in circles like slow-motion speed skaters.
