I'm here. Finished dinner and settled in for an evening watching skating. Thought about tuning in earlier for the women, but as I haven't yet seen the short, and had other stuff to do, I'll catch up on that and dance tomorrow.

Nagaoki/Moriguichi - That was rough. But in a new pair who weren’t ready for a GP yet way; I think they could have potential with more time. And new to me music that seems a good choice for pairs.

Lifts are scary. I guess we'll see how they look next year - I can't see them getting the TES mins for Worlds this winter.

Laurin/Ethier - Nice twist. Was about to write that they didn't scare me then he almost slipped on a lift exit. A better skate than yesterday though, if I'm remembering correctly.

That was a better skate for them today. Still mostly focused on the elements with little choreography, or performance until the end of the program.

LaurEth - much better skate than yesterday, though I wish I could forget that this was the Spanish-flavored cover of "You're Don't Own Me." Also - that airing it all out lift to the lyrics "don't put me on display" will never cease to amuse me. Yes, I'm a 7th-grade boy in disguise, lol.

Danilova/Tsiba: Ouch - hard fall for Tsiba on SBS jumps. Nice high throw loop. No near death experiences (last lift looked a little rocky but not awful).

Nagaoka/Moriguchi did achieve what they came to NHK to do, by getting the Free Skate TEC minimum (42) for the 4CC.
Now they need to get 4CC TEC minimum for the SP (25), at some B Event.

DanTsi - great skate apart from him falling on the SBS 3S. The program isn't fab in and of itself, but that's what I've come to expect from Savin's camp, so it is what it is.

Danilova/Tsiba leave a very weird impression. I can't say it's bad. The throws in particular are great. And the program is kind of interesting. But they have zero connection and appear two random people doing things. The lines and edges are not matching, there's very little pair skating there.

I think over all I liked it though.

Nagaoka/Moriguchi did achieve what they came to NHK to do, by getting the Free Skate TEC minimum (42) for the 4CC.
Now they need to get 4CC TEC minimum for the SP (25), at some B Event.

The only senior B with pairs between now and the deadline for 4CCs entries is Golden Spin and they aren't on the entry list for that.

That's all kinds of disaster for Liu/Nagy. TBH I am not overly impressed with any of the elements, including the one they finished successfully.

But nice basics and lines, so maybe they can become something competitive.

He is the stronger partner. Given he's a Hungarian, I'm kind of surprised he's not representing Hungary with a Russian girl (I know he used to).

Liu/Nagy - Awesome twist....and then two falls on the jumps, then double footed landing on both throws. Damn. Fabulous final lift.

Well, I guess the non-jump elements were good but with the errors I think they'll drop at least one place.

At least it’s a good music choice. Fleetwood Mac is great for skating and elevates this otherwise pretty average programme.
