Jyrkinen still on her Butyrskaya tribute program, with skating qualities closer to Nelidina.

What has happened to Janna? She was pretty consistent last year. These are really bad falls.

Puberty?

I will be very pleased if we get both Pelkonen and Peltonen at Euros. :slinkaway

Janna has just the wierdest technique. I don't know what is weirder - her lutz or her axel.
The axel for sure, it's a complete disaster. 🙈

Literally 90% of the music cut is the exact same as Butyrskaya's 2002 long program. They changed maybe a whole 15 seconds.

The music is frantic, slows, and then gets franticic again and she's truck-driving through all of it with none of the arm movements really matching anything.

Jumps seem completely lost.

Janna looks like she just gave up after the jump troubles. Growth must be difficult to overcome.

This skate was hard work. The Lutz is clearly not her friend right now, and I question whether she should have been attempting it. I wonder what practices at home have been like leading into this event.

86.35 = 1st Place
125.92 = 1st Place

Mazzara was semi-consistent once back in her junior days. :fragile:

Of course Egyptian hands skating in a Scheherazade costume. :lol:

Very French style to have no idea where she is in the air.

The Feeling Begins will always be Baiul's (even if she likely copied Trenary), but this one wasn't all that bad. Her rough, fast skating almost works with the music. I didn't hate it.

Not sure Christ would be tempted.

She is very red in the face at the end of this, stamina issues?

It's still pretty early in the morning, and this is not inspiring much energy or thought at this time. Nice opening combo. I was hopeful, and then things were sort of a mixed bag from there.

For me it's Grishuk/Platov and 100% OTT drama :D
