Give me French and Czech dancers any day.
Sorry, but most of the "hyping" was in people's minds. Like everyone proclaiming that they would (undeservedly) medal at Worlds and bashing them for this even though no one on their team ever said anything like that. It's because a lot of the hyping of them is over the top and doesn't match the skating. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
I was thinking mainly of the GOEs, not the audience chatter.Sorry, but most of the "hyping" was in people's minds. Like everyone proclaiming that they would (undeservedly) medal at Worlds and bashing them for this even though no one on their team ever said anything like that.
That's not hyping though. That's overscoring.I was thinking mainly of the GOEs, not the audience chatter.
Yes, well that was basically one poster pushing for World bronze.Sorry, but most of the "hyping" was in people's minds. Like everyone proclaiming that they would (undeservedly) medal at Worlds and bashing them for this even though no one on their team ever said anything like that.
I don't think that was it, or at least the only thing. Skaters sometimes need only one high score for that score/range to "stick", while it doesn't for the rest of the pack. I think the fear was that the judges would continue to place them in a pack in which they were pretenders. But it all really started with a senior international that was criminally overscored on all accounts, and many people fixated just on the scores of D/S while ignoring the massive inflation of the skaters below them as well.

I agree with all of this. I get it to some extent. "Everyone" hates Eteri and thinks she should be coaching. But Diane is just half the team, they aren't coached by Eteri and now they don't even skate for Russia. But whenever they compete, it's like people lose their minds and spend the entire flight bringing them into every skate just to bash them. It gets old. Really, really old.Yes, well that was basically one poster pushing for World bronze.
But it all really started with a senior international that was criminally overscored on all accounts, and many people fixated just on the scores of D/S while ignoring the massive inflation of the skaters below them as well. I remember I posted somewhere before the Olympics something to the extent of ‘all this agony for a potential 12th or 13th place finish?’
I just don’t find them nearly as bad as some continuously think they are but I also don’t think they are pushing for top in the world. With the North American teams competing at Worlds, D/S might not even really move up from their Olympics placement two years ago.
Like the team, already forgot the program.I still don't love this program. I mean the skating is good, but nothing about this program really pulls me in.
It’s redemption for the scoring of the French earlier this season. Finally the judges are seeing it.From Euro Bronze to placing behind the 2nd ranked French Team. Yikes.
