Judging by his 72.38 in the SP score, I'm guessing Michael Xie must have landed his 3A. He has a commanding lead over the other 3 men who have skated so far.

Murzin skated to last season's "Le Temps des cathédrales" (from Notre-Dame de Paris) - 3A good, 1Lz, 3F+3T. 64.41 in 3rd.
The 2023 Nationals program book lists his DOB as August 21, 2003 - so 19 now and too old for ISU Junior this season. Maybe he is skating here for the experience?

Or maybe someone at the USFS wasn't paying attention when sending out these invitations?

Sanchez in 2nd with a fall and no combo -- wow.
I don't know whether to be happy or sad about this. On the one hand, I really want Jacob to get a couple of JGP assignments, but it worries me that our men aren't skating too hot when those JGP spots are up for grabs and a fall and no combo can put someone in 2nd place.

Does he try to sing/lipsing? It won’t be plain.

Just saw - Kirk begins at 16:50 in the group 3 film. La Donna e Mobile - first half is the operatic aria…then OMG! Second half is a crazy electronic hip-hop edition. Oh, Kirk!
Finishes in slide, then kisses ice and makes prayer hands, after all landings.

I've been wondering about it but I was too lazy to look into that. Thanks!

I screen recorded the junior men's short for those who weren't able to see it live/didn't want to pay

Group 1: https://youtu.be/4RTvUs62d5s

Group 2: https://youtu.be/7fiHSObXNfw

Group 3: https://youtu.be/TdooBrfFgIo
You are a little rockstar and I love you for these videos!

Group 1 thoughts - Strommer - the best posture by far; Nguyen - forgettable; Xie - well, he landed stuff but he's way too introverted and didn't hold my attention; Shinohara - interesting style though he got a little sloppy as the program went on, but worth keeping an eye on; Brooks - has some flair, but he seems to be built like a pairs skater, so can someone at the USFS nudge him in that direction, pretty please?

Group 2 thoughts - Sanchez - I don't know what his team was thinking with that music edit but they need to seriously re-think it before the JGP, he's got the style to pull either piece of music off, but not in the same program; Murzin - lovely, generic Russian male skater, too bad he's too old for the JGP; Kazanecki - it's like he's trying to blend in and fade away - at least make him wear a red or purple shirt or something, nice but eh; Elano - nice straight back and good hands, gonna have to keep an eye out for him in the next couple years to see if he can get the jumps; Monaco - I wanted to be more intrigued than I was by him 🤷‍♀️

Group 3 thoughts - Klein - great posture and style, but without the big jumps, he'll be lucky to get 1 JGP assignment let alone 2 in a season where we don't have a full compliment of 14 spots; Fegan - oooo, I like his intensity, send him out with 1 JGP even if he doesn't have the harder jumps yet; Kovar - focused yet tentative; Haugeto - I sort of like this music edit with the techno beat, it will be a fun program once he gets more miles on it; Martynov - apart from the height difference, he and Murzin could be the same skater, but seeing as his first name is Daniel and he's on the taller/more muscular side, he's another one that I think the USFS should be nudging toward pairs

Is anyone else having trouble logging into the video site? I logged in to see about getting it ready for today (and to see if I could see replays from yesterday) and it said I didn’t have access and needed to buy a 1 day pass. I bought the $25 two day pass yesterday. I will contact them as well, but just wondering if anyone else had issues? And I couldn’t find any replays.

3 Joseph Klein, Skokie Valley SC
4 Lucius Kazanecki, North Jersey FSC
5 Antonio Monaco, Scott Hamilton SC - music is medley of Rach piano concertos (choreo. by Rohene Ward)

6 Taira Shinohara, Chicago FSC
7 Kirk Haugeto, SC of New York
8 Daniel Martynov, Great Lakes FSC
9 Beck Strommer, Alpine SC - music is from The Tree of Life Suite by Roberto Cacciapaglia (self-choreographed)
10 Aleksandr Fegan, SC of New York

11 Lorenzo Elano, Skokie Valley SC
12 Kai Kovar, Wasatch FSC
13 Daniil Murzin, SC of San Francisco

I am getting the same message. I also purchased the 2 day pass for Thursday and Friday and am now getting the message that I need to purchase a 1 day pass.

I don't seem to find a way to contact them except for arranging for other services.
