Only joined the live feed in time for the final four skaters. Annika Chao’s gorgeous spiral was everything for me. More of that please!!!! She can really capitalize on those lines. Amazed she is 13 and so mature.

I really thought the Korean would win after such an effortless clean triple axel and mistake for Ami. They were both great at their stages of development so hard to argue either way.

I wonder if she might be willing to consider ice dance? I'm not saying she has no future in singles (I hate when people suggest that skaters switch to ice dance just because they've seen them have one shaky performance), but her figure would look striking in ice dance and she seems to have a bit of diva in her.
Oh i absolutely love her long tall physique for singles though? Skaters like Carolina end up taking up so much ice and provide a stunning picture. Her spiral sequence was so beautiful. She has done so well to adapt to her growth spurt and only 13, the future looks bright, hopefully can get a little higher and cleaner.

Hetty Shi did very well, she didn't get all her jumps but her second mark more than covers the gap - she has really matured nicely.

Tsai

Wobbly-edged takeoff on 3z, good 3f-2a. Step up in quality of jumps and in-betweens. Schindler's List program with bloody red sequins on grey dress-not the most tasteful design.

ETA: Tsai goes into the lead by 30+ points :)
Yu-Feng TSAI (TPE) - her 7th place FS (skating #18 of 31, finished 9th overall in her JGP debut) was one of my personal highlight performances today :): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpyTOY3Pqcs&t=10120s

I breathed a sigh of relief today. We have Kim with a 3A. But, we don`t have the dread of very young skaters with big elements, if only temporarily, running off with senior titles. The last several years have been dark ones IMO for senior ladies. I can imagine these comeptitors feeling dispirited knowing that podiums would be populated by the 4/3A wonders of the moment. I think skater development will change.

The sooner the "ultra-C elements" phrase disappears from the women's figure skating lexicon, the better!
