The second Japanese woman assigned to Gdansk, Kaoruko Wada, was withdrawn and not replaced. Not sure why? She competed in her Regional (Chubu) this past weekend and won the Junior event there.

I did a search and think this was the first mention of Lulu Lin here on FSU (by @shutterbug in May 2021):

A possible bright spot for the future of women's skating in Canada emerged at Skate BC/YK's Victoria Day virtual event. 11 year old Lulu Lin from the Canadian Ice Academy landed a 3lutz - 2 toe and a 3fip in the Junior Women's SP: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x81g4cg?start=1348 Quite the little firecracker!

I was wondering why there’s only one Japanese skater but this explains it a bit. Even if the situation is still a bit odd.

Lin was doing the triple toe triple toe combo all year so interesting to see her go for the triple flip here. Didn't quite turn out. The rest of the program was really good though.

Lulu Lin: 2A, Rippon 3Lz, Ripp3F (off balance, saved) so only 2T. Not fond of the whistling but it’s different/original.

ETA: 56.16 (she shrugs), in 4th.
