The pants are cute on Mao; I think I'd just eliminate the suspenders. And change the music.
My two cents--I love the pants and the suspenders. The outfit looks, to me, like a beautiful feminine version of a male flamenco costume. I also love the music--Lady Gaga ❤️ and the stag jumps. I'm impressed with Mao and her team for the courage to try something different. I find this program very dancey particularly the step sequence. She maintains the flamenco feel effectively, throughout the program--something that is not always easy even for the most seasoned skaters. What can I say, I'm a huge fan!

I remember this piled-high hair from her previous JGP. Always wondering how it doesn't throw off her center of gravity!

Two falls from Kushida, I’d say that all but guarantees we’ll get our first women’s JGP medalist not from Asia this season.

Gurgenidze with the creepy voids for another season. Fall on the late Lutz gets +REP and some of the other jumps weren't fully rotated IMO.

Stream completely dead just before the start of Shimada, now back.

3A has a green blob, 4T with a red blob.

Video weirdly skips out on Mao’s first two jumps, including what from the tech box I would guess was the obligatory quad fall.

First two jumps are in the replays, so hopefully should be in the uploaded video later?

Zhang 3Lo | 3Lz+2T | 3T | 3Lz | 3F+2A+2A fallout | 3F forward+2T | 3S< fall

Well, it was so good until the last 30 seconds. Questionable rotation on the first two triples and the second 3F.

Lin-Gracey 3Lz+2T | 3S | 2A | 3Lo(fall) | 3F+2A tight, turnout | 3F+2T | 3Lz tight

Big jumps, but hesitant especially on the landings of the flip and Lutz

Elyce got shaky all of a sudden, too. These two need to learn to pace themselves, I guess, because something's happening to them around midpoint.

You gotta hold that ending pose, honey.

On my NYC vacation. Just checked the scores and shout “Hurrah!” For Team USA garnering TWO medals in the W podium…just like olden times when we used to multiple-medal often. I hope that we do just as well tomorrow with the men…maybe even win? 🤞

I’ll watch on Thurs, when I’m back home with plenty of time to rest.

P.s. Shout-out the US man who is currently in 4th place- Alexander Fegan - who studied ballet at the School of American Ballet, the academy of New York City Ballet, where I am. 👏
