Oh I have missed them, here is a snippet of their gala rehearsal for France Nationals that last two twizzles with the arms and then head movement  They have such a special quality to their movements. No offence to all the other lovely teams, but they are just otherworldly.
There was an interesting discussion in the dance thread about pressure on female dancers and subsequently how teams can be unbalanced in their partnership. The conversation talked at one point about Gaby and how she was described as the weak partner and also how Tessa had also suffered criticisms before their come back. It made me understand while I think P/C surpassed V/M that period regardless of results. Disclaimer: This is not out of provocation to V/M fans, I have always avoided directly comparing V/M and P/C here or anywhere in the forum while they were competing but now they both are out of the circuit and passions have calmed down, I will finally feel like expressing why I believe P/C had the edge when they were competed against each other.
During that period, Tessa was both an outstanding dancer and skater whereas Scott, while being an outstanding skater, was lacking as a dancer (lack of upper body flexibility and he was just doing nothing interesting with his arms, plus his back extension/posture was not pulled enough), he just came really short in comparison to Guillaume. Gaby on the other hand was on equal footing for me with Tessa so in the end, P/C are simply a more balanced team with both partners being outstanding skaters and exceptional dancers, all the way through their finger tips.

They were a great team however a blot on their record they never tried a character based free dance like say Moulin rouge or Evita they stuck with one style and ran with it. Interesting comments by Maxim Stavinski on fs gossip says he vastly preferred Virtue and Moir and whatever the french did Moir can learn it in half an hour lol!

I don't really like character driven programs so I am thrilled with their choices. Anyway, to each their own I won't add any comments it was the only and last time I allowed myself a comparison. No need to dwell.
I really like the mirror effect they are going for in this program which does not fully look like only a gala program tbh 🤔 But I know most people are convinced they will retire.

Agree that P/C were better that quad, for pretty much this reason! I'll also always say Cizeron was the much superior pure skater...

I like it too - I like that they've taken the opportunity of this year off to explore something a bit new instead of just cobbling bits of old competitive programs together and setting them to new music. And the costumes are lovely! I love that they're not skintight catsuits, and the way the trousers are cut suits them both well.

Character driven dance is so 2000s. Okay, no not really, but yeah, I don't need P/C to skate to Phantom or Carmen or aliens (and I LOVE C/B Alien FD) or spell out who they are portraying... I don't think they ever approached their programs this way... it was always more about evoking emotions through dance rather acting specific characters. By the I think Sunday Afternoon IS actually somewhat character driven. They didn't spell it out buy saying "we are portraying X and Y" but it's pretty evident from the song selection and the progression of the program.

This exactly. I was also thinking about Sunday afternoon program which is the closest to a character driven one but a la P/C and they did it brilliantly. That program grew on me after couple of seasons passed actually.
Revisiting all their programs, the best constructed one in terms of complexity and originality of lifts/position/pirouette was probably Find me. I love Oddudua but they could have pushed it further. Mozart and Build a home were their beginning and I would love to watch them skate those with their present level. Moonlight and Faure are their more classical programs a bit colder in tone with impressive lifts and sliding move for the Beethoven and an interesting theatrical approach for the Faure but less original in terms of lifts and poses. I initially loved the Faure but it is not the one I go back I watch the most if I am honest, same for the Beethoven. Their off Olympic season feel more intimate and personal, at least that is the impression I get.

I agree with this, but I really do like the way Faure progressed. I think their 2022 Worlds performance really was one of their best.
