So this is interesting to watch. I know the elements are different, for example the dance patterns, but in a lot of ways it is like watching Creative Skill competitions I used to see when I was in Canada.

eta... So I am also curious to know why Brooke Tufts isn't skating in the International comp part and opted for the Club comp? It seems the British girls skating in the International group competed with her in Helsinki. Does the club part of the competition accumulate points or something for a club to win something?

Will be interesting to hear from those in the know what happened to Lucas. Got a 2.00 deduction for illegal element and doesn't look like he got any points for his choreographic sequence (I will guess this is where the illegal element happened). He looked thrilled when he finished skating so I am guessing he was surprised as well. Judging by his PCS were it not for that he was clearly the fave of the panel tonight.

Ilia's sister, Elli Beatrice Malinina won silver in the Juvenile Solo Combined Dance - just missed out on gold by .01 and handily won the FD!

She had a fall right at the end of her PD yesterday (leaned too far back in her ending pose) which was a 0.5 deduction. Without that, she would have won overall. I assume that in future comps, she won't be quite so....emphatic...with her ending pose.
